My husband wanted a beer on tap. They had 30 to choose from, and our waiter recommend one that was very good. The food was excellent. He had the Goo burger and I had the soup of the day (lobster bisque) and a delicious salad. Very friendly staff too!!!

The name of the place comes from way back when local rules prohibited buildings higher than one story. A clever guy built a one-story building, then raised it on stilts so he could have a bar below.

Today, that bar has a comfy pub atmosphere and a really nice "tin" ceiling. Also a big list of beers, conveniently grouped by style. The menu offers a variety of tantalizing choices that we were eager to experience.

Five stars to our server, Ally, who was cheerful, prompt, very attentive, and the best part of our visit.

The problem was the kitchen. First, the chili had to go back because it was warm at best. Then one of the "handhelds" (sandwiches) didn't come out with the rest of the meals because "they made it wrong and had to start over". Worst, the actual food was not at all as good as we'd expected. One "handheld" was lukewarm and bland. The re-made bleu cheese one was tasty but modest in size, and the haystack onion rings that accompanied it were few, small, dry, sloppily presented and totally tasteless. For $12+ one expects more for a "handheld".

Great service! Thank you to Steve for your upbeat and enthusiastic attitude. The restaurant was busy with Octoberfest going on but Our drinks and food were brought promptly to our table. Too crowded to linger long at our table due to the crowd waiting for tables however the manager generously offered free drinks at the bar to turn the table over. Pleasant, friendly and relaxed dining.
