“Washington House Inn”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2013

I was very excited to be staying at the Washington House Inn. It was a pleasant experience overall, but lacking just a bit for what we paid. I was concerned with the cleanliness of the stone floors in the bathroom of the Fred Asche room. Both my hubby and I wondered just how clean the floors could be given their texture. Not sure if the sweep well or even mop well? Our toilet was leaking a bit on the stone floor, too. The hot tub was a little aged we thought and terribly difficult to get in and out of safely. It really needed a step stool or hand railing of some sort. The staff was kind. The hallways had that musty/old smell, which perhaps cannot be helped. The street traffic when staying in the Fred Asche Room is very loud! If that sort of thing bothers you, select another room away from the front of the building. Cedarburg is a nice place to visit for a night. I do not think you would be disappointed if you stayed here.

Room Tip: The Fred Asche room has extremely loud street noise and the hot tub is very difficult to get in and...

Arriving in a downpour didn't dampen our warm welcome to the hotel and a splendid rustic room. The hotel sits in the heart of Cedarburg's historic downtown surrounded by shops and restaurants. The room was spacious, exposed stone walls and four poster bed. The bath included a jacuzzi tub. A lovely wine hour in the lobby was the perfect antidote to a long drive in the rain. With an umbrella supplied by the hotel we ventured out for dinner and returned to enjoy all the comforts of this one of a kind historic hotel. Will definitely come back.

Our family tries to stay one night in Cedarburg, yearly if we're lucky. We wouldn't think of staying anywhere but the Washington House Inn. We've stayed 4 or 5 times now, and each experience has been 5 Star! We have gone as a family of four, and also as a romantic weekend getaway for my husband and I. Every room is unique and offers something different, no matter which room you choose in the expanded Inn (we've had a new room each time). The included Wine and Cheese Hour and Homemade Breakfasts are such a special touch we always look forward to. Make sure you get a punch card, as your 6th night is free! It's great to think that an historic Inn can make both families and couples feel so welcome and "at home". We love that it's so close to the great bike trail, scenic park/creek area, quaint shops, etc. Don't miss this exceptional Inn the next time you're in Cedarburg...it's definitely worth an overnight stop!

We've stayed at the Washington House Inn many times and prefer to stay in the main building. Every time we've visited, we found a warm, welcoming atmosphere and quality in the room, the evening wine and cheese reception, and the bounteous breakfast. It's a value that we haven't found elsewhere. So we look forward to coming back.

This was our second stay at the hotel. We prefer historic sites like this to the mega hotel chains. Lots of character and very friendly staff. The wine and cheese social hour is a great way to transition into the evening and the breakfast, as others have noted, is exceptional.

LOVED LOVED LOVED THIS B & B. Didn't know quite what to expect.. but the room was beautiful, the setting was beautiful, the staff was EXCELLENT. The cheese and wine social was excellent. The breakfast was homemade and made the entire house smell delicious!! The inn keeper even gave us a recipe. We stayed n the Ludwig Groth room. BEAUTIFUL decor. We stayed 4th of July and the view for the fireworks was perfect from our room!! Will return this fall/winter for a weekend getaway!

This was our first stay at the Inn, and we will certainly return. Our room was delightful, the breakfasts were delicious, and the wine and cheese hour was most enjoyable. The Innkeepers were all friendly and helpful. All of this in a super little town with much to do. It can't be beat!
Doris and John E.

Room Tip: We stayed in one of the "outer" rooms and found it very comfortable and suitable.
