“Good Bye old friend....”
Reviewed 12 August 2012

We used to stop here often several years ago. We have not been there for a couple years and decided to stop in when we were in the area again.

Our son ordered the Tilapia Fish Fry and we decided to get Burritos.

Service was slower than we had remembered. When our food finally arrived, we were quite surprised. The Tilapia "fish fry" consisted of a large, oval shaped mass encasulated in a batter or crust that had been over-fried to a dark brown. This object was buried under a slimy pile of overcooked onions, tomatos, and peppers that would not have been less appetizing had they been regurgitated by someone onto the plate. Our son felt ill looking at it and decided to exit the restaurant and wait in the car.

We pushed the offending entree aside and turned to our less than inspiring burritos.

When we finished, our server asked if we wanted our son's meal in a to- go box and we told the server that the entree disgusted him and was not even close to the menu description. Despite our comments, we received a bill that included the ofending entree.

We don't argue with restaurant owners after a complaint is made. Any owner or manager that accepts this level of food quality and service is usually clueless and will usually end up losing far more than a $10 refund in the end.

Our son settled for fast food on the way home and the next day, he was free of the abdominal stress my wife and I were experiencing. It turns out the burritos weren't a good choice at the microbe level. I was okay within 24 hours, however my wife may need to stay close to the bathroom for 48 hours or more.

We did love the memories of going here on a regular basis in the past, but apparently, the new owner/manager has erased any desireo to return to an old haunt.

“Best Mexican in Ozaukee County!”
Reviewed 8 May 2012 via mobile

The food is very authentic and tasty. The staff is friendly and very patient when we practice our Spanish. We have tried many dishes and they are all good. The location is in a strip mall on the south end of Cedarburg. Give it a try. We love it!

“Plain, simple and tasty”
Reviewed 24 February 2012

As a result of a weekly trip to Cedarburg, Jalisco has become a regular stop. It's on the south side of Cedarburg in an unexciting strip mall. The restaurant, itself, is nothing fancy, but the food comes fast and is tasty. The nachos are served with two types of salsa. Usually, we barely have a chance to dig in and the entree arrives. I don't think we've every been disappointed with an order. For under $20, two people can eat rather well. We've never had their drinks. However, I love the coffee with (what I think) is a touch of cinnamon. It's a good destination no matter what the size of your group. They will be accomodating.

“Different since last we visited.”
Reviewed 26 March 2010

OK it's been a while since we'd been here but the place has changed: larger menu, much larger prices, and even the entrance is in a different location. The service was quick but almost everything is a la carte now. Their super burito dinner no longer includes rice & beans. That's now extra. Sour cream...extra. One bowl of chips and salsa is included. But request a second...that's extra. Soft drinks - $3 one refill. There used to be a great mariachi band that would go from table to table... no band. I'm wondering if this explains why there were only 3 tables filled at 5:15PM on a Friday night. At least the music was appropriate for the restaurant - Mexican.
