“What a find!!”
Reviewed 25 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Beautiful little cottage just perfect for a romantic weekend away for two. Perfect for visiting the surrounding area. If we were staying longer would have wanted the cooking facilities to be a little better i.e a proper cooker where everything works at the same time!
The gift left by the owners was a lovely touch and allowed us to enjoy the bath even more!! They have done a truly wonderful job of bringing this medieval cottage back to life. Loved it.

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Betsy. We understand that the cooking facilities are basic but due to the size of the kitchen we can't fit a full size oven in, one couple did manage to cook a Christmas dinner though so we know it's possible somehow! Many thanks again for your review, we look forward to welcoming you again one day soon, kind regards, Emma

Thank you for your review, unfortunately due to the property being listed we can't get a shower in, we hope the character and charm of the copper bath make up for it. We would love to welcome you again soon. Regards. Emma.

This cottage was an exceptional experience! The owners are helpful and generous. The cottage cosy, comfortable and warm. Butleigh is a very welcoming village with a local, pub in walking distance of the cottage.

“Won over at the door!”

Wow! We stayed here earlier in the year whilst attending a celebration nearby and my only regret is that we were only there for one night. What a little piece of secluded luxury! Tucked away behind an old wall, entering through a little gate as if going to find a secret garden. Then faced with an old doorway, walking in to the entrance, feeling the magic straight away. My husband is 6'2" and even he had a great time here, and had no problem with the height.
The cottage is full of charm, is small but perfectly formed, and has so many stunning features. I still haven't decided if my favourite bit sitting in front of the large fireplace in front of a real fire, sleeping in the beautifully decorated four poster bed, or relaxing in the copper-effect free-standing bath. I used to live in this village and can't believe I didn't know this little gem existed.
An ideal place to stay for a quiet, romantic few nights away - it's the type of place that ensures you'll slow down and enjoy your time together. I only wish we'd been there longer.
