“Cosy cottage in a sleepy village.”

This cottage was well situated for short outings to Glastonbury and the surrounding countryside. From here we were able to visit Glastonbury Tor, Cadbury Castle and Ebbor Gorge.
The cottage has a lovely 'old smell', it reminded me of the lofty Hampton Court Palace Kitchens, and conversely of my old slightly damp cellar.
The Bed has been mentioned in reviews before as being either great or horrid. I personally didn't enjoy sleeping in it. For a couple the mattress edges were very firm and tilted each of us into an over soft middle. It would be great if sleeping alone as you could melt into a deep soft pocket in the middle of the bed (never to be seen again!).
The bath was... an experience, not necessarily bad though, just remarkably different. The plug hole however is higher than the rest of the bath, so it doesn't drain completely, it would be good if a squeegee was provided to account for this.
The Kitchen was basic but functional for a weekend, plus we ate out a few times. It could be difficult preparing any meals of more than two separate components. The kitchen cupboards are well stocked with appropriate crockery, cooking dishes and utensils.
All in all, a cosy cottage in a sleepy village, close to some places of interest, it may look luxurious, but it wasn't outstanding.

Thanks for the review. We are glad you had a lovely time. The bed as you mentioned will always be a personal taste so changing it wouldn’t help everyone. We do now have a squeegee for the bath. Many thanks again.

“A charming little bolt hole”
Reviewed 25 July 2017 for a stay in July 2017

Betsy is very charming and authentic. Emma was particularly helpful in assisting in providing us a bottle of champagne & card on our arrival.
If quaint authentic 15th century charm is what you're after then you won't be disappointed.

The medieval cottage is fabulous. Especially the bath and the four poster bed. I slept wonderfully. I used it as a base to visit Glastonbury, Avebury, Stonehenge, bath and Cornwall. I wish I had booked for longer and if I go back I will definitely stay again I would recommend this to anyone. I stayed there with my mum who is in her 70s.

Thank you so much Emma
