Did not know where to stay in Green Bay and a friend had recommended Chateau De Pere. Pictures from the website that I viewed I thought the place looked dated.I was pleasantly surprised to find that not true the rooms were large the bathroom was the size of a dance floor and the bed was heavenly did not want to get out of it.

I found it to be in a great location and it is right on the river the room had a great view. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Would definetly stay here again if I am ever back in Green Bay.

Room Tip: We stayed on the third floor room 301 it was great

We just stayed at the Chateau for one night....we were both "wowed" when we saw the size of the suite #308. It is a huge corner suite right over the Fox River. It is really cold here in Northern Wisconsin, so it took about 40 minutes for the room to warm up and there is no heat in the big bathroom....but it also is a spacious and nice room...huge whirl pool tub. Next time I think I would call ahead and ask them to turn the heat up before our expected arrival. But other than that, it was just wonderful! Nice to have a fire place and a comfy king bed and nice other chairs for reading or watching TV. Went to the Union Hotel for dinner (great steaks etc and a block away), also went to the train museum, which is very interesting and the Neville Museum and had a great burger topped with peanut butter (yes, peanut butter) and bacon at Title Town Brewery down town Green Bay. The pancakes we had were good for breakfast...next time we will try the Chanson restaurant as I hear it is very good! And like others have said, it would be nice to have a fridge for our beverages.

Room Tip: I saw the regular standard rooms and they looked very nice also, but we opted for the suites up on t...

This hotel is very nice...our room was great with fireplace and whirlpool tub. The restaurant has very good food at very reasonable prices. Clean and quaint, great place for a weekend getaway! We definitely look forward to staying again on our next visit to the area.

I stayed at this hotel over Labor Day weekend and could not have been more pleased with the accommodations. The staff was pleasant, friendly, and courteous, and the rooms were beautifully decorated. The boutique style hotel has world class amenities with small town charm. The French themed room accents were a nice touch. I live in the area, and have my friends stay here when they visit. Lovely hotel and an asset to the community! Food is delicious as well! Be sure to try brunch on the weekends.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the Fox River and Riverwalk!

Over the summer month of August, my girlfriend and I planned a trip to Chateau De Pere.
Upon arriving at the beautiful exterior positioned beautifully along the lake, we decided to step into the bar for a drink.

The receptionist was very kind and helpful and directed us to the bar. Upon walking through the beautifully lit restaurant and being greeted by several of the wait staff, we arrived at the bar. The bar had beautiful woodwork and made us feel like we were somewhere in beautiful inlands of France. The drinks were affordable and made well, I had a dry martini made to perfection.

After a drink we sat down at the restaurant and got to look at the delightfully designed menu options and had no idea what to pick! The kind waitress suggested the duck l'orange for myself and my girlfriend ordered some type of french style chicken pot-pie, which sounded delicious.

Our server took great care of us, the wait for the food was not long and the environment was delightful. When the food arrived: WOW! Some of the best cooked food I've ever had. I've been to french style restaurants but this took the cake by a long shot: absolutely delicious!

After dinner we made our way to our room which had a lovely whirlpool bath and a breathtaking view of the lake. We spent the night very comfortably and checked-out the next morning.

Since our lovely trip, we now frequent there for dinner and drinks for a really cozy, authentic and yet affordable experience!

We stayed in 302 for two nights. The room was clean and spacious. The view of the river was amazing. We Had Dinner at Café Chanson, the Ribeye was cooked to perfection as was the Beef Bourguignon. The Chef even stopped by our table and recommended dessert! The Breakfast in the morning was a nice extra touch. Loved the Blueberry muffins and Quiche.
Everyone was very friendly.

We came to Green Bay from Canada to watch the opening home game of the Packers. We stayed the Friday night before the game. The room was spacious and had beautiful views of the river. We also missed having a refrigerator. The complimentary breakfast was in dire need of improvement....coffee was cold and tasted terrible. The coffee we made in our room was much better. The muffins were not fresh either.
Our biggest disappointment was going for dinner in the restaurant. It was our wedding anniversary we had wanted a fun romanitic evening. The bartender was not friendly and we had to ask to order a drink. Then we had to ask to order dinner. He told us that the kitchen was too busy and could not accomodate our request. This is a good size restaurant and we were astounded to be told this.....considering that it was the weekend of the opening home. We left and found another place to eat in town. We will not return to this hotel.
