We had my daughters 9 year old birthday party at the hotel with 10 girls all spending the night. We had food delivered to our room from a local pizzeria, swam in the pool, cake and all kinds of girly fun. In the morning we woke to a wonderful breakfast, fully stocked and staff readily available. Perfect night, wonderful, affordable birthday memory!

We reserved a fireplace/whirlpool room for two and was very happy with everything.....have to admit i was somewhat leery what to expect when i read some of the reviews, but figured those who complain are more apt to rate a hotel than those who were happy......the room was immaculate, the front desk lady was most helpful, the breakfast included everything from boxed cereal and wrapped danish to fruit cups and yogurt, waffle maker, hot omelets and sausages, toast and bagels, juices and milk, oatmeal and coffee and tea....fresh fruit.....what more could one want? the room had a fridge and microwave, king size bed, great working heater, (we had to keep turning it down with the fireplace running and the whirlpool heat). i want to thank the staff for a very comfortable and fun stay.....i would come back anytime and would recommend it to everyone.....we drove to Lake Geneva that night for a walk along the lake and went to Old World the next afternoon for their Christmas presentation..both were close to 30 minutes away and we passed Alpine skiing and the hill near Lake Geneva, so a great location for your winter travels and outdoor activities.......i do NOT work for the hotel, i live and work in Illinois and really wanted to let people know what a great place this was........

This hotel is not even close to the quality a person would typically expect in a Country Inn. From the peeling wallpaper, to the sloppy caulk job around the sink, to the complementary breakfast featuring muffins in cellophane wrappers, everything about this hotel says "we don't care." The rooms haven't been updated since before Planes, Trains, and Automobiles was released. Grungy old bedspreads, stained sheets, tube TVs, no fridge or microwaves.

As other reviewers have suggested, if you're forced to stay here, don't take a room on the first floor. My first-floor room smelled like a mix of wet dogs, old cigarette smoke, and must. I moved to a room on the second floor; still old and crummy but didn't smell quite as doggy.

Do yourself a favor: drive a bit farther and find a decent hotel.

First impressions are very important in a service industry and a couple of front desk staff we interacted with were either having a bad day or seemed like they would rather be doing something else. We received short responses to questions, sometimes with forced smiles and/or no eye contact. The rooms and maintenance staff were nice. We would stay there again and to receive a welcoming greeting from front desk would be refreshing.

Stayed at this hotel in july for 2 nights.I don't believe I have ever seen a hotel room with 10 foot ceilings. The room was the twice the size of a lot of hotels,so if you like lots of room this place should fit . There was a couch ,refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and a big Jacuzzi in the bedroom.Room was clean with adequate amenities. continental breakfast came with room along with fresh baked cookies in the lobby.

Our room was nice - it was a fireplace, 2 queens - & the lobby was neat & clean. And the staff was friendly, but the rest goes downhill. THere was a dirty washcloth in our room when we entered. THe breakfast area was not kept clean, and on the first day the waffle machine was broken (& that's one of the highlights of our family vacation) - it was a pleasant surprise to see it fixed on the 2nd day. I had to ask for more breakfast items on both days so it was not being monitored. The pool area had tile falling off the wall, some window screens had big tears & there was a bad, musty, mildewy smell in the pool area & in the adjoining bathrooms. The drinking fountain by the pool was very dirty.

Room Tip: top floor & away from highway, also get a fireplace room for fun.

Hotel is located next to highway, rural Wisconsin, 35 miles outside Milwaukee, but close enough to Alpine Valley.

I checked in late, got to my room on ground floor and had some issues. Front desk agent was apologetic, helped out quickly, and got me a room on second floor. I was shocked to find out hotel does not have elevator, so had to haul everything up stairs, yes a big deal when having multiple heavy bags.

Hotel is small and basic. Rural. Breakfast was standard continental, I like the waffle machine, but I find the coffee very weak. WIFI is ok.

Room does not have fridge or microwave as other Country Inn and suites have. I did also have some billing issues which I was not pleased.

I found rooms a bit dark, deep red colors of bedspread, carpet and curtains don’t help. Large square tube tv.

Pool is very large, hot tub was hot but jets did not work. At night it got rowdy, plenty of glass beer bottles.

Guests do congregate in outside front entrance patio area to smoke, so you are welcomed with a cloud of smoke coming in and out.

During my stay they had an issue with towels, left a note in room and we had to go to lobby to get clean towels.

The bathroom was ok, has a silent fan, some wallpaper was peeling off walls.

One good thing is plenty of freshly baked cookies in the lobby. There are also granola bars and fruit, USA Today available all day in lobby

Overall, hotel is very basic, no elevator, very rural, and I encountered problems that were too basic that could have easily been avoided by experienced staff. I did find poor value since the rate is much higher than what you get.

Room Tip: No elevators, so if you have limited mobility ask for ground floor
