I was staying in the Holiday Inn, and was nicely surprised by such a nice restaurant in the hotel. The service was excellent, and it was a great place for a business dinner. My salmon fiorentino was a bit overdone, buy my companions loved their steaks and cedar plank salmon. They also had an excellent beer selection.

We ate at Johnny's after arriving at the hotel late and being too tired to think about getting back in the car. We decided to have a few appetizers and drinks rather than a whole meal. I wish we could have tried more of the menu, because what we had was delicious and way better than any of the fast food/chain restaurants near the hotel could offer. Starting with our waiter, who was absolutely excellent. Service to rival any I have had in four star big city restaurants. He was attentive and offered wonderful suggestions. He chatted without being overbearing or overly friendly. Can't say enough about how wonderful he was - just sorry that we were so tired we can't remember his name - David perhaps? As for the food tried, the homemade bread that came to the table was delicious and fresh, even at ten at night. We each had a bowl of soup - minestrone and the baked potato. Both very good. I would recommend the sausage bread if you are looking for a heartier basic starter. Tasted almost like a good deep dish pizza with a bit of a crisp to the crust. The bruschetta was very good as well, we had the version with shrimp. The restaurant is decorated very nicely, if a bit on the dark side. There was a nice spacing between tables, allowing for privacy for the diners. On our next trip through, we will definitely stop and try more of the menu. If you are local, this seems like it would be a nice place to go for a special meal, although the prices are not high at all. I would rather come to a place like this than any chain that was around that hotel.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review and for the kind works. We will share this with our team. Concerning the lighting, the decrease in lighting affords for quieter conversation which is less impactful to guests at adjoining tables and offers a very subtle warm mood. We hope to see you back soon.

We had hoped to dine at what seemed a more genuine Italian restaurant in Eau Claire but a deluge from the sky caused us to change our plans and eat at the hotel. The restaurant is well designed and quite pleasing to the eye. We were shown and a commodious and quiet booth. The menu seemed to offer a good selection of steaks although the Italian component was illusory. My calamari starter was great in quantity but low in quality: very rubbery. My entree was the house "signature" medallions of beef: two of them, 7 oz. in total. The meat was only fair and the special sauce wasn't special. All of it was very pricey. Service was friendly although rather inattentive? Bottom line: Overpriced, mediocre food with an Italian gloss. Advice to travelers: check out other options.

Thank you for your comments relative to your visit at our restaurant. First, they are being forwarded to our Executive Chef for follow-up with the culinary team and second your comments are being forwarded to the Brand owners for consideration of new menu additions that specifically address the lack of Italian on the menu. Thank you again.

We ate here today for Father's Day. Our server was attentive and fantastic, and the food was wonderful! My son and mother ordered the lasagna which was beautifully presented, and they both loved their food. I had the drunken steak which had an unbelievably tasty sauce. It was cooked perfectly. A nice touch was the refills on the pre dinner salads. The other 5 people in our party enjoyed everything about their dinners as well. We will definitely be back!
