“Great rooms and great customer service”
Reviewed 8 October 2009

The rooms were spacious and well equipped with basic necessities.
The rooms were very clean.
The bathroom toilet could have been cleaner...
Room service was timely and customer service was great.
Breakfast food was satisfactory.
Noise level should have been monitored better - kids were far too noisy after 12:00am.

We stayed for a wedding and found the hotel easy to get to, and check in was fairly fast. The hotel was understaffed. The front desk clerk spend any spare moment outside smoking. Overall, the hotel was new and layed out very well. Downside was that out room had a burned out light and the switches didn't work. Also the sink drain was plugged. We had to wait until the next day to have it repaired because no one was there to fix it. Then, we got back to our room around 6:00 Pm and out room had not been cleaned. When I called the front desk, the apologized and asked what we needed, and sent up towels. On the plus side, the hotel offered a nice bar lounge and pool/hot tub area.

This was one of the best hotels that I have ever stayed at! This property has obviously been newly remodeled. The rooms are very nice--tastefully decorated, large, comfortable beds. They also have a microwave and a fridge for no extra cost. Desk staff was very friendly and even chatty, which was nice. The hotel is actually closer to Eau Claire than Chippewa Falls, but it is very removed from both places. We were moving from the West Coast to the East Coast and weren't that interested in sight seeing so this didn't bother us.

The restaurant is very, very good. The food is pretty standard American diner cuisine, but very fresh and tasty. The produce tasted local. After dinner, we went to the sports pub and had some of the local beer--Leigenkugels, I think? Also very good and the service at both the restaurant and the pub was excellent--fast and friendly. Food at the restaurant is pretty inexpensive too. Considering that you're not that close to either Chippewa Falls or Eau Claire, they probably could get away with charging more.

The pool was really inviting and very clean. I wish that I had had time to use it, since nobody was there. There is also a convenience store, a pizza and sub shop, a gas station, and a fireworks and kite store on the property. The pizza shop delivers to the front desk for you to pick up.

There is a continental breakfast which was pretty good. It was bigger than a lot of others that I've had before (that give you store bought muffins and nothing else). Mostly carb choices--cereal, oatmeal, bagels, toast, pastries, etc. But they also had yogurt, hard boiled eggs, and a waffle maker. Good coffee too.

Finally, it was $70 per night for two people with two cats. It would have been $60 without the cats, but they seem pretty lenient about pets apart from the fee.

If I go through Eau Claire or Chippewa Falls, I will definitely come back here. I would even go out of my way to go to either of these places again just so I could stay here. Very quiet and relaxing, with everything you need so close by. I especially recommend this place for anyone moving since it provides much needed respite from the stress of the move.

The stay at this hotel was very enjoyable. It was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The rooms were spacious, as a family of five fit very comfortably. Do not be alarmed as you are driving in. It does give you a little shock seeing the Sleep Inn sign under the Cenex sign (a local gas station). This hotel is not anything like a grungy travel plaza hotel. It is like a regular hotel located in a city. The hotel is in the middle of corn fields, but the plus side to that is you don't have to pay the city hotel taxes, as it is not in a city. The hotel staff was also very friendly. The few issues with the hotel are not really issues at all. To start, there are not many dinning options nearby. There is an on site restaurant and bar. Also, the water in the guest room did have an odor, it was definitely from a private well. This is a great hotel for people visiting the beautiful cities as well as those who are traveling through. You can even get a tan, a hair cut, and fill your car with gas without even having to leave the parking lot! Excellent hotel.

  • Liked — It was in a very quiet location, clean, and friendly.
  • Disliked — The smell the water had and the rural location.

We stayed at this Sleep Inn on October 19 and 20, 2007. The hotel is almost new (opened a little over a year ago) and was clean and tastefully decorated. There was plenty of parking and a convenience store/gas station and restaurant and bar are attached to the hotel. The pool area and fitness room and attached restaurant looked nice, but we did not utilize them because we were out exploring the area during the day. They did give us coupons at check-in for discounts at the restaurant. We did have a couple drinks at the bar the second night, and the bartender was very friendly. They had complimentary peanuts in the shell.

The staff at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. They gave us travel information and made reservations for us at the Leinenkugels brewery (this was a free tour and was very interesting). The hotel staff recommended we go to Irvine Park/Zoo in Chippewa Falls, and that that was definitely beautiful and worthwhile (also free, but the park closes at dark). The staff was very happy to answer our questions about the area. We were pleasantly surprised that there were still some beautiful fall colors in this area in late October (some leaves had fallen, but most trees still had some colorful leaves).

The complimentary continental breakfast was as expected (no waffle maker, but plenty of other options such as juice and milk and tea and coffee and fruit and toast and mini muffins and cereal and hard boiled eggs and oatmeal and yogurt).

The king non-smoking room we had was on the second floor and was fairly large. It had a separate bed and living room area with a sofa sleeper and lounge chair and desk and table and coffee table and dresser and small closet. The bathroom was kind of small, but adequate and clean and had a granite countertop and hairdryer. The bed was pretty comfortable. The only view from the window was of the roof and a satellite dish, but we did not spend much time in our room anyway as we wanted to explore the area by hiking and biking and driving. The shower/tap water had a slight odor.

This looked like one of the newest and nicest hotels in the area and the price is very reasonable. The location was also convenient to go to Eau Claire or Chippewa Falls (it is not located in town, but is just northwest of Eau Claire.

This hotel also allows pets (up to 2 small dogs per room) which was also important to us since we traveled with our 2 small dogs.

I would recommend this hotel for anyone who is looking for a clean, comfortable place to stay in this area for a reasonable price. The friendly staff and convenience store and complimentary breakfast and restaurant/bar/pool/fitness room on site are also a plus.

As of this writing, this Sleep Inn is a newer property and a decent option for either the Chippewa Falls or Eau Claire areas. It is a part of one of the currently in vogue "travel plazas"-- motel, combined truck stop-convenience store, and restaurant-bar.

Our second-story king suite room overlooked the truck parking area; not scenic, but not terribly noisy. Staff was friendly and helpful on the quiet weekday evening of our stay. Continental breakfast was the fairly standard 1-2 types of fresh fruit, cereals, juice from concentrate, pastries, bagels/English muffins, and hard-boiled eggs. We got a discount coupon for the adjoining restaurant-bar, but arrived too late in the evening to use it.

Room and hallways were well-kept, but the the carpeted stairway vacuuming had been neglected for a while. The exercise area and pool appeared to be in good repair and reasonable cleanliness.

  • Liked — Newness, AAA rate, location
  • Disliked — unvacuumed stairwells
