We recently stayed at the Bay Point Inn at the end of September. This is the second time we have visited this property and enjoyed our stay once again. I'm not sure how we missed this Inn in our many years of traveling to Door County. I guess we were always too busy to get to Fish Creek and stay at the White Gull Inn, BIG MISTAKE!!! After a very bad experience with the owner of the White Gull Inn we were looking for alternative lodging. This fits the bill and has so much more to offer.

Both trips we have stayed in the same suite on the south end of the property by the pool. It's a one bedroom with King bed and TV in bedroom, large bathroom with separate shower and whirlpool tub. The living area is cozy with gas fireplace, nice TV, table and chairs that we used for playing games while over looking the waters of Green Bay. We had first rate seats every night for the most beautiful sunsets that were equal or more lovely to anything we've seen in Key West or Hawaii. There is a deck with lounge chairs and small table that can be enjoyed while viewing the sunset and having a happy hour. If the weather is too cool, you have a great view from your suite. The kitchenette is very lovely, large refrigerator with ice maker, microwave, stove top, dishwasher and basic kitchen supplies/utensils. There is access to gas grill by the pool if you wanted to cook out. Both our trips were in the fall and we dined out for our meals. Breakfast is included in the rate of your room. The breakfast has choice of juices, coffee, milk or tea. Warm egg dish which were muffin tin quiches. The mini quiche were offered in both meat and vegetarian options. There was also Belgian waffles, fresh fruit, several pastries and bread choices. The main lobby has a cooler with a serve yourself/honor option of purchasing soda, wine or cheeses.

The property is situated right on Highway 42, however you are unaware of the busy road in the front of the property. Ample off street parking, very easy to get to and easy access to anything in the Door. The water view/location cannot be beat to enjoy the serenity of the Bay. We were lucky enough to see Bald Eagles fly over the bay.

The room is tastefully decorated, well equipped, very comfortable furniture/bed, nice linens and the bathroom is stocked with Gilchrist and Soames toiletries. The shower had large dispensers of cleansing gel, shampoo and conditioner. This was a very nice touch.

The pool was still open last year during our September visit. It was well kept, lovely landscaping, private and very enjoyable. This year it had already been closed for the season. As previously mentioned the pool area has at least one gas grill and patio tables and chairs as well as adequate chaise lounge chairs.

The owner Miles was visible at the property and very hospitable. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. The buildings and grounds are well maintained and our suite was very clean. I can't say enough about this property and will return again next year. Good value for the money with all that you get and the location.

We stayed here after another hotel gave away our reservation. We were tired and exasperated and just wanted to rest. The Asian people at the front desk did not convey the price clearly. She first started at $199 then said oh yes, it the weekend so that $249 then when the bill finally came it was slightly over $300. One thing tried and true about Door County is that they really need to make their money before the snow flies. We had no choice because everything was booked for an in town event that Saturday. If we hit the lottery I will probably go back. DAMN good breakfast the next morning was included, but I could have had alot of food for $300 in Vegas.

Room Tip: Get a price in writing before you move away from the front desk.

Hi there,

Sorry for our receptionist's initial confusion on the rates. You are correct, with 10 rooms and a short season, we do have to make our money before the snow flies (though we are open in the winter!). We appreciate you staying with us, and we're glad you loved the breakfast - we work hard at it.

Keep an eye on our off-season specials - we do offer some great rates and you can take full advantage of our service and find out why so many find our rates well worth it.

We hope we see you again sometime, and thanks for posting your thoughts!

Best,
Myles Dannhausen

We have been coming to Door County for a number of years and have stayed at several different places. This is by far the nicest, but it is also the priciest. The accommodations were very nice, very comfortable, clean and well-maintained. The breakfast was decent, with a nice variety and better quality than many hotel breakfast bars. The highlight for us was the view of the waters of Green Bay. We were in a ground-floor unit, with a nice patio. The way the facility is laid out, there is a feeling of privacy to the patio. Given the fact that we were there in the midst of high season, in a very popular tourist destination, we felt the price was reasonable. We will definitely return to Bay Point Inn.

We have been coming to Door County annually for the past 10 years and had previously stayed in Fish Creek. Needing a change, we decided on this property and we are so glad we did. The one bedroom suite is bright with a wonderful view of the bay especially at sunset. The small patio seating area is perfect for reading or a glass of wine before dinner. The bathroom has plenty of lighting and was very clean. Breakfast was good with waffles, fresh fruit, an egg item and cereals. Everyone was pleasant and welcoming making us feel at home. I walked to Egg Harbor to shop while my husband was attending a conference. We are already looking forward to our next visit, maybe a winter get away.

Room Tip: The end rooms have windows on both sides of the bed. With both those windows open the cool breezes flow right through the room over the bed, feels like you're sleeping outside in a big beautiful bed without bugs.

We are a mature couple who stayed in a one bedroom suite for 3 nights that had beautiful views but had outdated decor, two different thermostats to play with, and the bed was a little soft for us. The Breakfast was the same each day with eggs in a muffin shape creations that were scrumptious, belgian waffles and plent of other continental items. Price is a little high for a weekend, but it is Door County. Many great restraunts in the area, good attractions with wineries, light houses and shopping. You are paying for the view.
