This was our second visit to the Osthoff. We came this time to take advantage of Road America. We enjoyed our one-bedroom condo at the Osthoff with the nice deck overlooking the pond. The front desk team was very helpful. We really enjoyed the water activities (canoes, kayaks, paddle boats, water bikes) and our daughter enjoyed the "kids camp". Great location on Lake Elkhart and nice drive from Chicagoland area.

Located in the heart of the legendary Elkhart Lake, WI. This resort/condo has everything you are looking for in getting away.
We stayed in one of the condo's this past weekend although they also have regular rooms also.
The condo was tastefully appointed and all of the amenities worked. Housekeeping was top notch and the staff was extremely attentive and genuinely concerned with our comfort.
Lola's restaurant is hard to beat with only the best selection of wine, beer and liquor. Although a bit on the high end for food and drinks, it was well worth the amount. The wait staff were all dressed the same in white blouses and black skirts. It was evident that they have been well trained in customer service!
The grounds are very nicely landscaped and well manicured. They have a large pool outdoors, another pool indoors and are located on the eastern edge of the lake with their own private beach and concession stand. Bands were playing on the beach Friday and Saturday evening. The music was middle of the road with something for everyone except for hip hop and rap. Thank goodness!
I have stayed here numerous times and have tried all of the different rooms they offer. They never fail to please. During the off season they have some great getaway deals which include spa treatments, entertainment, etc. You will not be disappointed!

Room Tip: Rooms on the west side overlook the grounds and lake. Rooms on the east side overlook the parking l...

My family which includes three adult daughters spent our first annual vacation at the Osthoff. Unlike many of our other family gatherings we did not include spouses etc. for this five day getaway. We chose this resort because it had both the amenities of a great hotel and accommodations of a good condo or house rental at a very reasonable price. We stayed in a three bedroom 2 bathroom apartments with full kitchen and outdoor balcony overlooking the lake. This was a great choice for us!! The girls used the gym, took yoga classes at the spa and used the indoor facilities on the rainy days. The lake, pontoon boat, and water actives were so much fun we scrapped some of our original plans to enjoy the water. Our condo was clean and the staff made sure we had everything we needed. Our only problem was the kitchen. It was fine for breakfast and making lunches. Our original plan had been to cook dinner in the condo. However, the quality and quantity of available cookware, serving pieces and even silverware was inadequate to make and serve a family sit down dinner for five people. We opted to eat dinner out at one of the fine restaurants in the resort and surrounding areas. We did not try to see if there were more place settings of silverware or serving pieces available. My sense is that this wonderful staff would have done their best to fill in what we needed had we asked. However, the happy result was that we had fabulous meals cooked by top notch chefs at the resort and the surrounding town. This was an unexpected bonus. This resort was a great experience and the girls voted to return next year.

Room Tip: One should be aware that the third bedroom is over the main living space on the second floor. There...

We just got back from our third time at the Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake, Wis. All 6 adults and 3 kids had a ball. We found new places to eat and the weather could not have been more perfect. Our accommodations were great and the pool and lake were great for swimming along with the Fri. and Sat. live entertainment on the beach. We ate at there beach eatery and bar which made dining out with three small ones easy. The grounds were so full of flowers and the bonfires on Thur. and Sat. with free smores to make yourself was super for the kids. They had never done this and they met so many other kids also enjoying the resort.

Room Tip: we had a three bedroom Woodland and nothing wrong but liked out 3 bedroom Lakeside premier better.

My husband and I stayed at this resort for the first time -- and it won't be the last. The rooms were immaculately clean, staff was extremely professional and customer service oriented and the bonfire and making s'mores was just plain fun. The resort has plenty to do from the lake activities, to the indoor pool and hot tub which came in handy as it rained one of the days. Lola's restaurant was upscale and Otto's was a good family casula restaurant. We loved the dock bar with terrific brats. You can walk to town and leave your car behind. We enjoyed walking around the pond and going to the gazebo. The Elk Room was a nice place to get a drink and relax and you could get coffee + there in the morning. All the children seemed well behaved and it was nice to see families enjoying time with their children. Also the boat ride was very nice on very clean Elkhart Lake. We had a good feeling about this place from the first moment we called to make the reservation as the reservationist was very helpful and courteous. Another plus was that our balcony had a table and chairs which was a nice place to enjoy a glass of wine or a snack.

Room Tip: view of courtyard is less expensive than the lake view and very nice.

The brochure and on-line photos are exactly what we found when we arrived - a very beautiful and well kept resort. Our group consisted of myself, 3 daughters and 3 grandchildren (under the age of 12). We spent 3 nights in a 2 bedroom suite which had very adequate space with the fold-out couch and an additional cot. With 3 pools and the lake, nothing ever felt overly crowded even though there were many guests on the grounds. Everything is in walking distance, it was nice not to use a car if you choose not to. I would suggest making a pontoon rental or ride at the time you make your reservations at the resort. Everything was already booked up so we couldn't enjoy a tour of the lake, as planned. We also felt the pools could have been kept at a warmer temperature to enjoy swimming outside longer. Over all, we all enjoyed our stay and hope to return another time. One added comment, all of the staff were exceptionally friendly - a nice touch.

Room Tip: Our 3rd floor south side courtyard room was quiet and had a pretty view - lakeview would be nice, bu...
