Description: Wickman House is located in a historic lodge in Ellison Bay, Door County. Offering sandwiches from Paying tribute to the property's original owners and namesake, this historical landmark was reborn as Wickman House in 2012. The renovation and design of the property are dedicated to restoring its history with an eclectic blend of original decor from the early 1920's. Also true to the property's original purpose: the restaurant's focus is on sustainable agriculture, featuring a menu inspired by fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced from local farms and gardens. Finally, the property's enhanced space strives to be a true gathering place, much like The Ellison Bay Lodge was nearly a century ago. The proprietors, chefs, and staff at Wickman House strive to provide their guests with the ultimate dining experience through professional service and the use of only fresh, sustainable foods. All seafood is humanely harvested and sustainably considered. Nearly all ingredients not arriving from the sea come from local Wisconsin farms, artisans, and growers. All baked goods, desserts, sauces, stocks, and soups are made in house from scratch, just the way the Wickman Family would have wanted.

“Best ambiance in Door Co.”
Reviewed 26 October 2013 via mobile

Wife and I dined here on recent getaway. Staff provided excellent customer service and the ambiance is the best in Door Co. Food was good (she ate butternut squash ravioli, I had the seafood stew) and reasonably priced for fine dining in the area...but the reason to go is the atmosphere. We'll be back.

“Terrific Meal In A Lovely Setting”
Reviewed 23 October 2013

Wickman House is definitely worth the drive to Ellison Bay! The setting outside the restaurant is beautiful, all illuminated at night, and the interior is a step back in time. We all sampled from the craft cocktail list, where we were able to enjoy $5 cocktails until 9pm. Some members of our party were a little intimidated by the "trendiness" of the menu, but everyone enjoyed their entrees immensely! The ingredients were fresh and locally sourced, and I must say the butternut squash ravioli special I had was insanely delicious. The desserts get a special mention of their own! We ordered a tasting of each, and there wasn't a dud in the bunch! The "ice cream sandwich" and creme brulee are must-eats if you go. The staff were attentive, friendly, and sociable without being intrusive and the ambience (with it's soft lighting and lit fireplace) makes for a cozy respite on a rainy autumn night. Wickman House is an upscale dining experience for a reasonable price, and I would 100% recommend visiting during your Door County stay.

“good all around”
Reviewed 14 October 2013

The drinks and food were outstanding, the service friendly, informed but not intrusive. And a nice setting. Quieter music would be welcome.

“A treat”
Reviewed 5 October 2013 via mobile

Good food, good service, good setting, reasonably priced for what you get. I wrestled whether to give it four or five stars, even had five stars but changed it back to four because while the food was very good, it didn't quite meet the standard of great. Notwithstanding, I enjoyed it very much and would go back. Loved the tequila sunrise and artisan salad. My wife loved the rolls. The soup was good, the ravioli was better than good, the desert was good and one other entree was good. Wish I had the option to give it 4-1/2 stars.

“Door County Gem”
Reviewed 30 September 2013 via mobile

My wife and I have been there several times in the past couple years. It is now one of our favorite dining destinations, especially when we take special guests we want to see the excellent dining experiences available in DC. We also very much appreciate that they get the nearby fresh and high quality foods from local producers. It's worth the drive and effort to get there.
