Although when we visited they were out of the pear cider, we tried the other three ales. They are all quite dry, so if you like something drier than Redd's, Crispen, or Angry Orchard then you will enjoy this! The tastings are free and the workers are very nice people. It's just a matter of what you like and we were hoping for something just a bit sweeter. It's a small, clean place off Hwy. 42.

The cider here is delicious and the staff is very appreciative and welcoming. The building is kind of misleading, and they don't sell too much there as far as varieties go, but it is delicious and cost-friendly. I suggest stopping in for a sample!

We stopped in to Island Orchard Cider recently for a free tasting. The tasting room is located just off the main drag through Ellison Bay, near other interesting places. The outside of the building is very unassuming, but once you enter, you get a different impression. There are 2 rooms at the entry...one where the tastings and sales and done and one with the cider equipment. You are free to look around.

The day we were there the 2 owners were giving the tastings. They are extremely passionate about their hard cider, which is great! We tried 3 ciders, all of which were wonderful...cold, sparkly, refreshing. We wound up buying a bottle of the original hard cider...for starters. The owner let us know where we can buy more near our home.

One of the great parts of the tasting was finding out where the apples and other ingredients are grown. People are so into "Local" these days...well this sure is local. The cider ingredients are grown on Washington Island and just down the road at another orchard.

This is definitely an up and coming business. Stop in and see what great things Island Orchard Cider is up to!
