“Great soup buffet and pies”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 August 2014 via mobile

Went here with my wife and friends, who are regulars. They have an extensive menu but have a great soup bar of 5 soups.

I had the all can eat soup which comes with fresh bread and a cherry sparkle (cherry juice and 7Up). My wife had an excellent grilled cheese sandwich.

For dessert we shared their excellent cherry and four-berry pie. Service was very good and attentive.

I would absolutely go back, especially for the soup.

“Food was ok but overpriced.”

It is an ok building but way overpriced for what you get. Homecooked food, decent quality but 13+ for a lunch is a lot for average family.

“Good food, but they need a refresh”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 August 2014

All the promotional papers and listings in the area leave you expecting a wonderful and unique dining experience. We thought it was pretty run-of-the-mill and disappointing, given the hype.

Our meals included a trip to the soup bar - it felt like we were being sent to a 1970s soup/salad bar - just not terribly appealing. The soups were OK, but certainly not worth the premium pricing. The bread was almost inedible. The cherry drink was very sweet. The salads were good, but we've had salads at fast food restaurants that were equally enjoyable.

There are better places to spend your money and time.

“What a pleasant surprise! ”

Restaurants in Door County often charge high prices for mediocre food, but not here. Delightful food, friendly service and fair prices make this an excellent choice. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, too.

“Love the shopping in Ephraim! Go someplace else for lunch.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 August 2014

We should have planned or shopping trip better or just drove into Sister Bay for lunch. However we were getting hungry and needed a break. Their claim to fame is the soup bar. I get it, it was cute in a kitschy way and the soups we had were good. However, my chicken salad was a bag salad mix topped with sprouts, mealy tomato slices with a scoop of chicken with may plopped on top - flavorless and unremarkable. The tuna salad that my husband had was nothing special. The server seemed to think that we knew the routine and explained very little. NOTE: The cup at your place setting is not for coffee - it is for the soup bar. I thought it was overpriced for what you got unless you just get the soup bar.
