We were looking for any place that offered breakfast and got lucky to find the Summer Kitchen. It on the main drag in Door County but not stuck in town where parking can be a real problem. The food was very good, service extremely fast and friendly. Save some room for their frosted cinnamon rolls.

On this visit to Door County the weather was a little cooler, gray with some rain so the soup bar at the Summer Kitchen hit the spot. Awesome. They had four or five homemade soups, you have the option of 1 cup, 2 cups or the sampler at varying prices. We opted for the 2 cup serving. The soup was hearty and in hindsight 1 cup would have been adequate as bread and crackers are included. The staff was friendly and attentive.

Interesting restaurant. Stands out so it's easy to find. Had the soup and sandwich from the lunch menu. Soup was limited to one coffee cup sized serving and the sandwich was quite large. Would have preferred smaller sandwich and 2nd cup of one of the 5 varieties of soup available. Soup is their claim to fame.
Service was fine but server was abrupt, seemed to be on the run although restaurant was not over crowded. Unique restaurant but will probably be a one time experience.

The Summer Kitchen restaurant is a nice place to eat, you don't have to dress up, and it's family friendly. The employees were very friendly, service was super fast, and the view from their back eating area is cute, nice pond. The menu is quite large and there were three choices of fresh home made soup. What I liked best was that the food was served with a side of fresh fruit, not high fat French fries. I had a chicken wrap and it was the best I'd ever had.
As far as price, this is Door County so expect to pay a little bit more than you would in a non tourist town.
