Our goal: To get away from it all during spring break to a place that would be quiet and romantic.

MIssion accomplished!

As most people go to Door County during the summer and picturesque fall, we ventured up there over Easter weekend thinking it would be quiet and relaxing. It was. Edgewater Resort is right on the water front. The front desk attendant was super sweet and very helpful with restaurant choices and activities. They have menus of all the nearby restaurants so we browsed a little before deciding where to go. Upon entering our room I was breathless. The floors are wood and starkly clean. From the doorway I could see across the kitchen and living room through the living room door onto the veranda and the frozen bay. Light was everywhere. The kitchen was truly completely equipped including wine bottle openers and wine glasses. The living room was comfortable and cozy with a fireplace which could be enjoyed from either the living room or the bedroom. (One of those built into the wall units). Fire at the touch of a button-Perfect. The bedroom had a very comfortable king bed and a whirlpool tub that we definitely enjoyed. I was very impressed with the layout, the decor and above all the cleanliness. Free wifi is available though who needs it when trying to get away right? Our stay was just two days and believe me I wish I could have stayed longer but duty called. We did manage to take a short walk to the Eagle Point Lighthouse at Peninsula State Park. This winter being what it is...there was still quite a bit of snow on the ground but it was still very enjoyable.

When you go please take a moment to browse the visitor's diary on the coffee table in the living room of all rooms at this resort. Everyone seems to leave an entry on their way out. You won't be able to help yourself either. You can read about someone years ago or about the last person who stayed. Either way you will find charming stories and excellent advice on where to eat and shop or just sites to see.

As enjoyable as it was...I can only imagine what this may feel like with the warmth of the summer or the changing leaves in the fall. I can almost see myself on the veranda enjoying a summer breeze while gazing out over the bay. It is a future memory. We will be back to fulfill it.

Thank you for a wonderful memorable stay.

Room Tip: We were on 212. Second floor facing bay. I am calling the Spa above the whirlpool. And Trip advisor...

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of staying here over the Easter weekend for two nights in a deluxe suite overlooking the outdoor pool and lake after purchasing a great Groupon deal. This place felt like a home away from home, and we will definitely be back!
Pros:
-Check-in Staff was courteous and friendly!
-Our deluxe suite was spotless and the room itself had a great beach-like feel to it.
-The Jacuzzi tub was a real treat after being outside all day shopping in chilly weather!
-The full kitchen was a real perk for cooking meals to save a little money!
-The master bedroom was very spacious-although it was just my husband and I, a family of four could easily stay in the deluxe suites! I'm not sure, however, if the couch in the living room pulls out...
-The fireplace is a nice touch to add to the cozy feeling!
-View of lake was great-I'm sure it would be even better with the warmer summer weather!
-Ephraim is nestled between Fish Creek and Sister Bay, which both have some great shops and dining-perfect middle location!

Cons:
-The only real con was that the room was a little toasty, despite us having the heat set as low as it could go. Being on the second floor, I'm sure we were getting some of the heat from the room below us.

We truly enjoyed our relaxing stay here, and would love to return again in the warmer months!

My wife and I took a weekend trip to Door County and stayed at the Edgewater Resort in Ephraim, Wisconsin. Location was perfect and was on the bay-side of Door County. The hosts were very accomodatiing, friendly, and let us check in early. The room was clean and had everything that was needed in terms of size and amenities. (Oven, refrig.,micro, flat screen tvs, king-size bed, plenty of chairs etc.) It was perfect. Hosts were helpful in terms of recommending restaurants and things to do. We'd come back in a minute! Very nice!

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 216 and overlooked the bay--it was beautiful and we watched the sunset.

Stayed in a 2nd floor suite overlooking the bay. Beautiful views and very nice accommodations! Used the fireplace quite a bit. The only downside was that the attached restaurant was not open due to the season. The weekend was with my mom and best friend. It was like a home away from home. Very clean. would stay here again in a minute!

Room Tip: 2nd floor corner suite and great views.

We loved our room's charming, cozy qualities! The homey, Cape Cod themed decorations were a very nice touch. The electric fireplace was a constant companion while in our room as it was a very cold, snowy weekend. The jacuzzi tub was nice. The groundskeeper had shoveled the sidewalks by 8 am so they were on top of snow. We enjoyed the guest journal which had a couple hand written journal entries that included places people recommended to eat and go. We arrrived around 9:00 pm on a Friday evening and were surprised that the lobby was closed. Unsure how to check in, we called the emergency number listed by the door only to learn that there was a late check in place with our room keys in it. That would have been nice to know when we booked our room...now that I am home, I see something on the confirmation email saying we should arrange check in if after 6:00 pm. The office staff was very nice, but we didn't use housekeeping for our weekend stay or any other resort services. We weren't even aware there was a restaurant and it may have been closed for the winter. We had a wonderful view of the bay and it seems that most of the rooms do have a bay view. The only complaint would be that the room was very bright in the morning before 6 am and the bed was extremely firm. We had purchased a Groupon Getaway for a spur of the moment Door County trip and we were thrilled with the value and our accommodations.

Room Tip: Ask for a sunset view! Most rooms have a great view of the harbor.

We stayed here for a weeklong vacation to Door County and liked it a lot. The restaurant was very good and the blueberry pancakes are a must! The room was a bit snug but very cozy! We would stay here again anytime!

The Edgewater Resort exceeded our expectations from the moment we arrived. Cozy cottage atmosphere was ideal and just what we needed. Dual fireplace (viewable from both living room and bedroom) was a special treat. Two-person jacuzzi was also quite a nice luxury. There were only a few minor problems (mostly maintenance related). One was air seepage under the front door due to weatherstripping being torn/worn off, and the other was that the shower door wouldn't close all the way due to being off its track.

A street-level suite is great in the winter, but I would choose an upper level suite for summertime travel. Traffic was virtually non-existent while we were there, but knowing how busy it is in the summer, we are quite sure you wouldn't get a very quite night's rest at street level. The staff is great and willing to bend over backward to accommodate any extra needs, i.e. forgotton toiletries. We asked for a list of restaurants and activities that were available during the off season and one was provided in our late check-in packet.

We plan to make a stay at the Edgewater an annual event!

Room Tip: The suite we had was great for mid-winter, however you would probably want an upper room in high sea...
