We have been visiting the Edgewater Resort for several years now and always love it. The location is perfect for us, sitting between Fish Creek and Sister Bay. We never have to drive too far for a restaurant, hiking or shopping.

The rooms are decorated very cute and have a beach feel with white woodwork and hardwood floors. The rooms include a separate living room, kitchen, bedroom, hot tub and fireplace. We have a baby, so it's nice to be able to put her to bed and be able to hangout in the living room by the fireplace. The view of the lake is amazing.

We tend to visit the Edgewater during the off season when everything is much quieter. I love that we can go hiking and feel like we have the entire state park to ourselves. I would highly recommend the Edgewater Resort.

We've stayed many places in Door County, but we always go back to the Edgewater. The manager is great -- always friendly, resourceful and helpful. The entire staff is very easy to deal with and seem to enjoy their jobs. The view is spectacular and we like having a restaurant right on the property.
It's always fun to rent a pontoon boat or sailboat, then get some ice cream from Wilson's.
We're already looking forward to our next trip to the Edgewater!

We stayed here on our first trip to Door County, and I'm glad we chose this resort. Ephraim is a fairly centrally-located resort on the upper part of the Door peninsula, it was just a short drive to Fish Creek or Sister Bay, where we found most of the activities. The grounds at Edgewater were nice, and we had a great view out on the bay. We stayed in one of the rooms in the middle building (there are three main buildings, plus four stand-alone cottages), on the second floor. All of the rooms in the main buildings (except for three suites in the southern building) had shared verandas, they don't have private balconies. So, while other guests can possibly walk in front of your room, we didn't find this to be a big issue. IMO, it's probably not worth it to pay more for one of the rooms with a private balcony, since the view is not that much better.

The room was nicely decorated, and had a huge bathroom and adequate living room. One thing, though, the jacuzzi tub is definitely not made for two! That was a little disappointing, given the price for the room and the fact that it had a king bed, living room, kitchen, etc. Some of the other rooms might have larger jacuzzis, I would call to confirm. That was probably our only gripe. The resort does have a pool and hot tub, but they were closed for the season, so we didn't try them out. I noted other reviews that said the noise from the pool could be an issue, and I can understand that, given the proximity of the pool to the rooms.
The attached Old Post Office Restaurant was a nice stop for breakfast, and our room rate included a $10 certificate for the meal, so that was good. The restaurant also offers a traditional Door Co. fish boil, but we didn't try it, opting to dine somewhere else. All in all, a nice choice for a Door Co. visit.

Sent our parents there for 60th. Was just what we were looking for they just loved it. The rooms were just what the picture show, close to everything you need to see. The workers were very nice. We are very glad we found this place and our parents enjoyed their stay and would for sure stay again. Thanks so much.

We spent 5 nights/6 days at the Edgewater in early September and had a wonderful experience. I had called the resort to make my reservations, rather than doing it online, as I had some specific questions. My husband had his heart set on staying in a room with the view they show on their webpage. The reservationist was very helpful, and got us the perfect room. Note; the balconies on the first and second floor are more like verandas that stretch across the whole front of the building. Only the third floor rooms have private balconies (which is what we wanted, and got).
The view was spectacular! The suite was spacious and spotless. The whirlpool tub is set into a window alcove in the bedroom, looking out on the same great view of the bay. The suite was very large, especially for just two people. The kitchen was complete with a dishwasher and full size appliances, as well as being well stocked with cups/plates/etc.
The location was terrific as we were a quick five minutes up to Sister Bay or down to Fish Creek. Even Egg Harbor is less than 15 minute drive.
The person who checked us in was effecient and helpful. The daily maid service was great (although we opted out on two days!). A very quiet staff....we could have been there all by ourselves.
If you are a techie junkie, you may have some frustration. We found cell phone reception to be nearly impossible, although we could easily connect the laptop to the hotel's wireless service (which is free).
All in all, a wonderful place in a wonderful setting.

We arrived late and although the office was closed they had everything prepared with a key available - what trust, we didnt have to check in to the following day! That set the tone for the resort and the whole vacation. Everyone is so friendly and wanting to help in any way that they can. An older man helped us with our luggage the next day and wouldnt even accept a tip - part of the service he said. He was an excellent resource for what kind of entertainment was available too.

The suite was just right and what a view! We wouldnt have had to leave our balcony. Lovely pool area with plenty of towels. Maid service was great; the room/suite kept fresh and tidy. We could walk to anything.

We've already made our reservations for next year.

We recently stayed at the Edgewater Resort in Ephraim, WI, in Door County. It's located right across the street from the Green Bay and you can view the sunsets from your balcony or from the hotel owned beachfront across the street.
We paid extra for a room that faced the water, well worth it, we thought.
The hotel staff, with the exception of the man running the desk when we arrived, were very nice. We had to switch rooms for the third night of our stay. This was highly annoying. It meant that we had to hang around close to the hotel until the guests before us in the other room left. They ended up trashing the room, but the staff did a great job getting it back to tip top order.
The decor made it feel just like you would want to at the beach, relaxed. The pillows were a little hard for my liking though.
Our only other complaint was parking. There is a restaurant that has a fish boil three times each night, so we would lose any chance of getting parking close to our room if we left for dinner. I wish that they would restrict the back parking lot to hotel guests only, for the price we paid for the room ($250 per night) I expect good parking.
There was free WiFi, but it was painfully slow and disconnected a lot. I would do your necessary research about the location before you leave home and not mess with the computer while you're there.
Overall, we had a really nice stay, I'd definitely go back again.
