After having several less than wonderful meals in Door County Wisconsin, we were wondering if there was any good food there. It was raining, we were hungry, and there was a restaurant close by. I ran upstairs to look at the menu and see the specials. Sounded decent. Asked husband to join me We chose the chicken, vegetable and rice soup and 1/2 a sandwich. I had the BLT, he had the Reuben. What a great rainy day lunch it was. Our server was friendly, efficient, and helpful. When checking out, we noticed they had a good looking dinner menu as well. So, back to the Second Story restaurant for dinner, same server, and the food was just as good. This time we both had broiled fish. Good choice the second time as well!

The restaurant is very nice and clean. The food was very good and friendly staff. When staying at the motel there is a 10% discount on the meals for patrons.

The food is always good. Reliable, standard choices, nothing fancy. Delicious daily specials like the baked chicken dinner on Sunday. The small salad bar at the front of the cozy dining room offers a selection of fresh, time-tested salads. Be sure to save some room for the cherry pie a la mode. What you can't beat is the view. You climb a flight of carpeted stairs to the second story where the small but adequate dining room is located. And you look out the windows at gorgeous Eagle Harbor in downtown Ephraim, directly across the street. The continous tourist traffic below does not alter your view since you sit high above it. Come for dinner and watch an outstanding panoramic sunset. Even if you sit at a table in the rear of the dining room you have a great view. We eat here when we don't want something fancy. You can dress casually and have a nice time. Servers here have always been very accommodating. Remember this is a dry town. Take a look at the daily dinner specials, they are worth a visit!

We went for lunch and was pleased to see how fresh and bright the dining room was - can't say that about all the food! I ordered the breaded shrimp - we got a salad, that was fresh and crisp,
the shrimp looked good, but were suffering from some freezer burn - and tasted almost stale! Because the hostess and waitress were so pleasant and efficient, I did not complain. I know I should have. Then my husband ordered the scallops. They came as deep fried little balls - he said they tasted good, but wished the menu would have said they were small and deep fried or the waitress would have mentioned it. He prefers them just in a butter sauce. Again, we said nothing. I would recommend not trying anything that could be already breaded and frozen. Their desserts looked great! (Didnt try!)

Forty some years ago we spent our honeymoon in Door County at the Ephraim Shores. We didn't stay here this time because we didn't remember where we had stayed until we saw it. Anyway, we stopped for breakfast one morning and it was really good. Everyone was very friendly and the service was excellent.
