“Worth a visit”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

Water Street Gallery is conveniently located on Ephraim's main street, bordering the bay. The two-story building is filled with wonderful pieces representative of the area as well as other nautical themes. Pieces are both framed and unframed and are reasonably priced. Several large models of ships, greeting cards, and posters are also available. The only downside is that there is lots of repetition in the inventory. The young male clerk wasn't all that interested in engaging customers but seemed to enjoy playing on his computer. Not the best impression, but it did give us a chance to look around without being bothered. If you're in the area, stop in. There's lots to look at.

“Great art gallery”
Reviewed 29 May 2013

My wife and I stopped here while passing through Ephraim. This is a beautiful art gallery with some wonderful paintings. This is what we expected Door County to be all about. If you like fine art then you must stop here.

“Excellent prints and paintings”
Reviewed 22 May 2013 via mobile

We really like Fred Bridenhagen's work, plus the chance to talk to him when he's in the gallery is worth stopping in--very interesting guy, besides an excellent artist. Unframed prints run $30-100, but nicely matted/framed versions are available as well. Makes me wish we had a cabin to decorate nautically!

“Wide and varied selection”
Reviewed 20 September 2012

The gallery has a good selection of prints, oils and giclees. Both framed and unframed.

The premises are on two floors and are very light and airy with plenty room to move around freely.

A nice place to browse and perhaps even buy.

“Water Street Gallery IS Door County!”
Reviewed 3 September 2012

No trip to Door County would be complete without a stop at Water Street Gallery in Ephraim just before downtown on Hwy 42. It is a beautiful gallery where the owner/artist Fred Bridenhagen not only produces the most detailed beautiful door county original oil artwork and prints of the same but he is there in person running the store. He is so personable and a pleasure to talk to. He takes the time to talk about art or the history of door county where he grew up. I spent an afternoon there just enjoying his company and was lucky enough to purchase one of his beautiful original pieces of art at a very low price. Not looking for an original? He has prints of all sizes of the hundreds of detail landscape, water, lighthouse, wildlife painting available in prints framed or unframed. What a beautiful treasure it was to find this gallery with such a totally down to earth artist who takes the time to greet every customer and make them feel at home. If you travel to Door County you cannot miss the opportunity to stop by Water Street Gallery in Ephraim located next to Beach People another little gem of a store that if you have children they would love to stop and browse the Door County souvenirs available there. No trip to Door County is complete without a visit with Fred! Enjoy!!!
