We had a large family gathering of kids and adults (coming from Milwaukee, St. Paul, and San Francisco) at Cooksville Farmhouse to celebrate my Mom's 70th birthday. We had a lovely weekend in this charming and comfortable farmhouse & beautiful landscape. We enjoyed the game room, admired the collection of books and quilts and enjoyed learning about the history of the area, We played in the yard, took a walk through beautiful yard (which includes a large grassy area, patio, firepit, prairie restoration and small barn with mules and chickens) picked a stunning wildflower bouquet, and fed the chickens, We made several meals in the fully stocked, updated kitchen and enjoyed visiting in the large sun room, which over looks the yard with beautiful views the wildflowers, which were in full bloom when we were there in July. It was very relaxing weekend in a special place that has modern comforts with old world charm. For my Mom, it was like going back to her childhood where she spent summers on her grandmothers farm. We really loved it and hope to go back sometime.
