Lots of poison ivy and dirt at the campsites, so either you get full of dirt or you wander out of the tent area and risk getting into poison ivy. We had a quiet site at North Nicolet that we reserved in advance. Water is across the street at a pump. Toilets were at the boat dock and had no running water, so you need to bring a water jug. There was a firepit and picnic table at the site. We had to drive to get firewood. A bundle was $6 and will really only give you one short campfire. You can get it cheaper outside the park if you come up on 42 or 57, but it must be purchased within 25 miles.
Raccoons, squirrels, chipmunks, etc. and they aren't afraid of you. Be vigilant about keeping food out of your tents and trash up high or in your vehicle.
The best part of camping here is that you have easy access to the lake and all the comforts. You can rent boats, eat a burger, shop at the store, or drive a few miles up the road to a restaurant. That is really handy if weather turns bad.
