Loved this hotel and its charming location - downtown Fond du Lac is a neat little place to visit for a day or two. I was surprised that this hotel was a Ramada Plaza, rather than a regular Ramada. Rooms are very clean, but are definitely spartan. I agree with the hotel's high ratings, but I think that if it didn't have it's historic charm, people would rate it much lower.

The gym in the basement is large and nice because it's free for guests, but much of the equipment seems to be 20-30 years old. Restaurant is good. Front desk is friendly and efficient.

This Hotel is a classic in the middle of downtown. It is well maintained with helpful and friendly employees. Need I say more? Stop by and have a nice stay.

We spent one night here last week - no ghosts, unless the ghost was one making my husband kick me all night... that was the only strange occurence for us. :-) Stayed on the seventh floor in a very large room with 2 queen beds. Great view of the city. It was the best night's sleep I had the whole trip - mattresses were good, linens were fine... quite cozy. Bathroom was good-sized, a great room in a wonderful old hotel. We've stayed in a few of these classy old hotels - this compares favorably with all of those.

Mom was a little bummed we didn't see any ghosts... it could have been we were so tired, and so comfy/cozy, we slept right through it!

Definitely would stay here again if in Fond du Lac -

This is a lot like a hotel in Chicago or New York. Kind of classy and old school. Clean, almost elegant. We've stayed here a couple of times, as the in-laws live nearby.

Right at Main Street and Division Street in Fond du Lac. Dead center of downtown, perfect area for dinner or a bar crawl before bed, as there are many, many bars on Main Street and the surrounding side streets (all within walking distance). The other nice hotels in Fond du Lac are out by the highway and sort of isolated in the industrial areas. The Ramada is head and shoulders above the rest. (Well, in Fond du Lac anyway.)

Well, we stayed here for one night and it was just lovely. No weird experiences. No ghosts! The jacuzzi suite is great. Maybe ghosts don't like jacuzzis?
