The GOOD and the ODD -- The campground we wanted to stay at was book for the holiday week & Rivers edge guaranteed us a tent place last minute. (yea!) -- Although makes you wonder why everything is booked but here.
finding it - No real signage. Just a little street sign off the hwy saying Pow Wow lane, down a winding road to a bar. A Bar in the middle of the woods... hmmm. If I was in the mood to party, this might be the place for me.
The people, owners, managers - Super Friendly & nice. Swim in the pool or in the river, atv's everywhere, 6 miles to great hiking, Canoe rentals, actual toilets & showers (not very clean).. for being a secret in the woods, this was a larger park w/ many motor-homes. I couldn't tell how many were seasonal, permanent, or weekend travelers. The tent sites were down below by the river.
What made this odd is that you feel like you were experiencing a piece of trailer park life -- They blasted movies on the side of the trailers and had 'who was the drunkest & most obnoxious' wars, and partied all night long. Fireworks too. ALL NIGHT LONG. would I go back? Maybe, if I needed a good bender and was with party animal friends. and yes, the KIDS LOVED IT.More
