Norton's does everything right. Four of us came for dinner on Friday night and were given excellent seats near the fireplace with a great view of the lake. We were immediately greeted by a cocktail server who took our drink orders while we perused the menu. All of us had one of the fish dishes. My wife had the Walleye almandine and it lived up to its reputation. I had the blackened Walleye, another in our party had the blackened seared Tuna, and the fourth person in the party had the scallops. No issues with any of the food and all items were cooked just right.
The cocktails were correctly made (e.g., Brandy Old Fashioned Sweet; a Wisconsin drink) and reasonably priced compared to other places in the area. We never felt rushed and had time to talk and chat. Great service. Our guests said it was one of the best meals and they, like us, have traveled the globe.
There is a dock outside the restaurant and if you are renting or have a boat, you can tie up at the pier and come in for dinner or drinks.
Reservations are not accepted on Friday and Saturday night. If you plan on eating at Norton's on one of these nights, arrive if possible by 6 pm for a minimal wait. If you make reservations, be sure and ask for a table near the windows or no more than one row back from the windows. There is a small riser in the center of the restaurant which has at least two more rows back from the windows.
