Spotlessly clean and spacious room, friendly and efficient staff, large indoor pool and spa, excellent buffet breakfast, a bargain for the easytobook price. Hartford is a charming town and the The Mineshaft pub is also highly recommended.

Good solid place to use as a home base for a busy stay...The room was clean, large enough for my wife and I to be comfortable. The desk staff was very pleasant and helpful. It's close to down town Hartford.

I want to start by saying that the building is beautifully remodeled and the rooms are very nice. Being as fair as I can, its only right to give them credit for providing a modern, clean and comfortable room.

That being said - we had our wedding in the area and with this location being the nicest hotel in the area, we obviously wanted to use them for our guests. You would think this would be an easy set up, and it was anything but. They will not give you a room block. Period. No compromising. They say its because of their limited number of rooms - but they were unwilling to block even 5 rooms at a time. We asked if we could block 5, then if they filled block another 5 and so on up until 1 month before the wedding. The refused to do this simple act of customer service to fill thier hotel? The rely on the fact that they are the nicest so refuse these other services that hotels that have to compete offer without blinking an eye. Secondly, they do not offer your guests any kind of price break for being part of the group. The have the guests register under a wedding party "group" to keep track of how many are there for your wedding but they offer them no discounted rate at all. They do offer you a complimentary night in one of their suites if you get 15 nights booked - but any hotel hosting a group like this does that. They make it sound as if they are doing you this great favor but they seem to lack some real business savy leadership here.

In the end, we had 9 rooms reserved for 2 nights and another 22 rooms reserved for 1 night. That is a total of 40 nights booked in their hotel. Again, I'm not putting down their rooms - they are very nice compared to other options in the area. Thier whole approach to attracting your business is thier rooms. Super 8 is right next door....practically share a parking lot. The rooms are more dated, and the building is not as nice nor are their as many options - but they do go out of their way to provide you exceptional customer service and you do feel valued there. All business travelers that we host in the area now go to the Super 8.

In summary - if you are just visiting for a night or two, AmericInn has beautiful rooms and a nice breakfast. If you are hosting an event, you are much better off to either work with the Super 8 next door or check with some hotels in West Bend nearby. They have many hotel chains that offer you very attractive discounts and blocks so your guests can be assured they are getting the best deal and will have a room for your special day. I wish someone would have let me know this when planning our day.

Room Tip: Look in West Bend for better group rates/blocks

Thank you so much for your feedback regarding your wedding group. We do value and appreciate our guests. I am glad you and your guests enjoyed our amenities and clean comfortable rooms.

Weddings are a big part of our business and we do offer the complimentary room for the bride and groom. We work with the local venues to get information to the bride and groom to have their guests book early rather than blocking rooms. You had a great group with us! We do appreciate your business.

Again thank you for your feedback!

Was in town for a conference and booked the "two room suite" thinking it would give us extra room to deal with conference activities. Turns out we were wrong in that it was pretty close to a standard sized room made into a suite. Guess we should have asked which rooms were biggest and not assumed. The room was certainly comfortable and actually had two rooms as opposed to so many hotels that plop a loveseat in the corner and call it a suite. The living area was off the hall then a fairly large vanity area with the tub/shower and toilet in a room directly across and then the bedroom. There are french doors (well actually "a'" french door and a door sized window as there wasn't enough room to make both doors open - a bit odd) that separate the living area from the bath/bed area.

The room had two televisions, a coffee maker, a refrigerator and a microwave. And a small but great feature for people with CPAPs and multiple things that need to be plugged in, every table lamp in the room had an outlet in the base. No more digging around behind the bed to find something to unplug! Another nice touch were real glasses in the room.

The bed was comfortable and slept well. The couch was comfortable as was the desk chair although I'd have preferred one that rolled. And a sight rarely seen nowadays in hotel rooms, there was a real closet with walls and a door so you could actually hang your clothes out of sight. The walls of the room are apparently built with a sound absorbing technology and I didn't hear anything resembling a peep through the walls. But why oh why with the millions of hotel rooms in existence has no one invented a door that doesn't seem to transmit every sound from the hallway?

Breakfast had all the usual suspects, cereal, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, and doughnut type stuff. The doughnuts were a step above the bought by the case two weeks ago doughnut holes, not gourmet but definitely a step above. Added to that were make your own waffles with maple and blueberry syrup plus another hot dish that changed. I saw scrambled eggs one day and biscuits and gravy the next (the gravy was a little bland however). The breakfast area was a little on the small side which could be a problem if everyone decided they wanted breakfast at once.

The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating and really went out of their way to be helpful. Can't give them high enough marks.

Some nit picky things - it would be nice if the window had a set of sheers besides the blackout crapes so you can let in the light without giving everyone in the parking lot next door a show. The living area was a little on the dark side - either another lamp or at least brighter bulbs. Does anyone besides me miss the old days when you could laze around your room until noon with the do no disturb sign out before leaving for the day and still have your room made up? Seems like everywhere I go if you want your room made up you need to be out no later than mid-morning or you spend the day with an unmade be and a bathroom full of damp towels.

Room Tip: If you can't do stairs or have lots of luggage, avoid the second floor rooms as there is NO elev...

I stayed at the AmericInn with five friends on a last minute ski trip to Wisconsin from Chicago. We found the AmericInn on Little Switzerland Ski Resort's website offering a 10% discount, so we chose them after viewing their webpage for pic's of the rooms. En route to Wis., one of the cars in our group broke down and the rest of us needed to check into the hotel early to wait on them. The people at AmericInn were very accommodating. They let us check in early without putting up a fight at all, and they did not charge us any fees either. They also let us check out late without charging us. And they even let us eat breakfast late when we fell victim to the daylight savings time change and showed up an hour late. Everyone we encountered was very friendly and helpful to us. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable, even after a day of falling down on the slopes.

Also, the staff was very professional and organized. When I originally booked the reservation, I entered the wrong dates and needed to quickly change it the day before our arrival. The agents at the 1-800 number were very helpful and quickly fixed my mistake. I was panicked and they were very calm and kind to me. They immediately sent me an updated email reservation confirmation. And then, when the staff at the Hartford location got my reservation info, they noticed I had mentioned the 10% discount ad from Little Switzerland. So, they automatically applied the discount, AND they automatically re-sent me another updated email confirmation - without me having to ask about the discount or for a confirmation email at all! By the time we arrived the next day (and they let us check in early), everything was all set and ready for us. It was seriously some of the best customer service I have encountered in a long time. We were all so stressed from our car drama, but the people at AmericInn are the reason we were able to enjoy our spur-of-the moment ski trip.

My girlfriend and I had just gotten back from a business/pleasure trip in New York City so we booked a mini getaway here to just relax and enjoy each others company. The choice was very random, based on proximity to us and amenities, but we were extremely pleased with the experience at Americinn. I was greeted by the GM who was sincere, friendly and ended up being very helpful for us in terms of area information the entire time; she really was just delightful every time we talked.

We had reserved a King Whirlpool room and it was quite above our expectations! The room was very clean, large and so cozy. Not to mention VERY affordable! There's a nice, warm indoor pool, hot tub and pool table that we enjoyed very much as well as FREE wi-fi and breakfast!

The only disadvantage is the location in terms of things to do. We went knowing we were going to relax and lay low, but got a little bored. There is a theater nearby and Little Switzerland Ski Resort in driving distance, which we went to as well as Pike Lake, which would be nice in the summer.

Overall, it was great and we'll definitely be back for another local getaway here! :)

Room Tip: King Whirlpool is very nice, large and romantic setting. There's no elevator that I saw so don...
