We come here for a great couples night, with friends and family. Whenever we want a special night, this is the #1 Supperclub of choice. Order an Old Fashioned, talk to your waitress and enjoy a nice slow paced evening and a great meal!!!

Every meal is great! Awesome grilled shrimp appetizer or make a light meal of it. Steamed crab legs, prime rib, fish fry...to die for. A little high in price but well worth it. Very entertaining at the bar. Just ask for the bartender. They always have a little trick up their sleeves. Makes the time go by fast if there is a wait or after dinner cocktail. The atmosphere of the original style of fine dinning without being stuffy. My favorite restaurant!

Really, $58 for mediocre crab legs in an unremarkable restaurant!? Give me a break. Yes, it was our responsibility to ask what the “market price” was before ordering. But since it is SO OUT OF LINE you would think the waitress might have mentioned it when taking our order. The service was fine and the prime rib was very good. After paying our bill we let the manager know how disappointed we were at feeling taken advantage of. In all fairness she did offer to give us a credit which we declined as that was not the point. We left with a really bad taste in our mouth and will never return.

The neighborhood has changed (and not for the better!) since this suppler club opened in the 1950's, but the management provides a security guard to keep an eye on your vehicle, so not to worry! This very plain brick building looks daunting but you will experience a pleasant surprise upon entering - white linen tablecloths and a cozy dining room. The food is always excellent. Steaks, seafood, duck, ribs...you name it...it is all delicious. I love the waitresses here - all very "old school" and they really know how to take care of you. Great cocktails - old fashions, brandy ice...they do all the retro stuff here very well.

Upfront: the exterior, neighborhood, and interior ambiance is not super desirable, but we really enjoyed our Friday night fish fry experience at the Bartley House. We indulged in a few old fashioneds at the bar before getting our table. Merkts and crackers within easy reach on the bar top was a sweet touch. Our server was very friendly, and chatted us up as if we'd been going there for years. We observed all of the staff members on hand taking pride in their work and really hustling. The fried perch was piping hot, tasty and plentiful. We were impressed with the items that came off the charcoal grill area. The women that worked that area are on public display to the dining room and they really cared about the product they put out, working well together.

Glad to have friendly parking lot security on hand. I wish they would put a little money in restoring (not renovating) the interior. What appear to be some cheap fixes over the years (banquet hall metal chairs, chintzy, scattered wall decor) take away from what could be a vintage beauty. Tasty food at a unique establishment. We will return for Friday fish!
