Great food & drinks. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was excellent. Nice location for where we stayed downtown.

“New Orleans Would Be Proud”
Reviewed 23 April 2014

Very flavorful Cajun food. A busy place -- People were waiting for a table on a Wednesday night.
Great location -- We ate ice cream across the street at The Pearl afterwards.

“Good food, fun atmosphere”
Reviewed 22 April 2014

This is a fun, casual place to enjoy cajan food. My absolute favorite thing to order is the Seafood Eggplant Pirogue. Beyond yummy....Portion size is huge with all their dishes so come hungry or expect to take half home to enjoy later. They also have amazing bread pudding so if you can, save some room for dessert.

“Fried Oysters”
Reviewed 17 April 2014

Here in La Crosse for 10 days out of the next 12 and right next to the Holiday Inn on Pearl Street is Buzzard Billy's Flying Carp Cafe. I have now eaten here three days in a row. Fried Oysters are great, very good. Gumbo was solid, could have been thicker, but tasty. I ordered the wings tonight and quite frankly, they were breaded - I was surprised, no need. They would have been fine with out a thick coat of unnecessary breading. Other than that, "don't order the wings, unless you just want fried chicken with a sauce" the people are nice and anything with oysters is worth a detour.
