“Clean, great value”
Reviewed 5 May 2014

This was my first time at the Settle Inn chain, though I had stayed at their other brand (Guesthouse Inn & Suites) on the west coast. I was pleasantly surprised, especially for the rate I was paying (although it was the off season). This property was formerly a Hampton Inn (in fact, the WiFi network is still "hhonors"), and thus has a bit more of the amenities you'd expect from a higher-end chain, while still being very affordable.

I stayed here for two nights in a room on the first floor, in a double bed. The room also had a La-z-boy recliner and a wardrobe, which was a nice touch. The room was a little musty, but airing it out for about 10 minutes fixed that. The room had a fridge (with a real freezer compartment- great for ice packs) and a microwave. The TV was an older tube TV (which is apparently unacceptable to a lot of other reviewers, for some reason), but it worked fine and had all the cable channels I expected, so who cares. The bathroom was also an older design, but the shower and tub stall looked brand new, and everything was very clean. The desk and dresser had a few scuffs on them along the bottom, but again, the room was clean and well-kept. One feature I really liked was that there is also a lightswitch next to the bed, so you don't have to walk back to the front door to turn off the room lights.

The pool was undergoing renovations while I was there, but the hot top area was clean with plenty of towels. Breakfast was also good -- the usual "expanded continental" breakfast, with hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, juice, baked goods, waffles, etc, as well as biscuits and gravy on one of the days.

This is at the north end of the strip on Rose St, and there's a family restaurant in the parking lot, and a BK and McDonald's within about a 5 minute walk, but beyond that, you'll want a car to go anywhere.

Settle Inn in La Crosse, WI, provides a restful experience at a tremendous value. The hotel rooms are very clean and have comfortable beds. In-room coffee is provided. The very reasonable rates included breakfast which offered a big variety of items served in an attractive dining area. Settle Inn has a pool and hot tub and is located right next door to a family style restaurant that serves generous portions at a reasonable price. Even though the hotel rooms are slightly smaller than some, you can't beat the value!

We were in town only one night for a benefit. Found the Settle Inn on-line and booked. I was pleasantly surprised! Always nervous booking online, sight unseen! The Settle Inn was very clean and very comfortable rooms. Location was great with alot of supper options close by. The breakfast included with the room price was excellent!! Would definitely stay there again!

This hotel was perfect for my one night stay while in town for a conference. It was clean, comfortable, and quiet. While I didn't partake of the morning's free breakfast, the breakfast bar was clean and well-stocked. I would definitely stay here again when in the area.

I was doing a quick overnight trip and just needed a place for one night. The Settle Inn is a great choice for those looking for clean yet professional accommodations.

The location is very good; not far from downtown and near several restaurants, notably Eduardo's (highly recommended). The room was very clean, the linens bright white with thirsty towels. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I didn't try the free continental breakfast or the pool but both looked perfectly acceptable. The bed was fine, though the mattress does need to be replaced (squeaky but still firm).

My room faced the back, and I have to say that I slept better here than in the hotel that cost twice as much on my last visit to La Crosse. It was very quiet and the curtain covered the window completely.

The only downside for me was that there was not an elevator, and I have heel pain that is exacerbated by stairs. The staff quickly offered to change my room, but for this short stay I felt that I could handle it.

I highly recommend the Settle Inn. They appear to be regionally owned, and while I do like my rewards programs sometimes it is nice to support smaller businesses.

It was perfect. Clean, comfortable, quiet, Convenient location to everything. Great price, and a continental for a bonus. I'll be back. Front desk people very polite. I would recommend this for everyone.

Room Tip: Always go for the king bed.

We were in town for a high school event and chose the Settle Inn to stay. What a pleasant surprise the staff were super nice and went over and beyond to accommodate our group. The hotel was very clean and well kept and did I say how friendly their staff was? Don't expect first class upscale accommodations but for the price it was certainly earns 4 stars.
