My girl friends and I went to Lake Geneva on a girls weekend October 4-6 and stayed at SevenOaks in a 2 bedroom rental . We loved it! We liked the fact that each unit was our own little free standing cottage. Loved the king size beds, whirlpool baths, heated floors and towel racks. Owners and staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. With the complimentary wine and cheese and crackers upon arrival along with a few free DVD's from the office and fireplace atmosphere, we were easily entertained and relaxed already on our first night. Our breakfast was provided every morning at whatever time we chose and included fruit, croissants, danish, cereal, yogurt and OJ. Complimentary Starbucks coffee and various teas were in our rooms at all times. Very close to downtown Lake Geneva. I pretty much am the designated person to find a place to stay for our girls weekend every year and you never know when booking online what you are really going to end up with. Well this was the best I have ever booked by far! SevenOaks is our place to stay in Lake Geneva!

We stayed here in mid September after a few days in Chicago.
We found it to be very relaxing and enjoyed the nearby lake.
The staff were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
Our suite was very comfortable and the facilities excellent.
Would not hesitate to recommend Seven Oaks to anyone wishing to stay in the area.

Quite, clean, comfortable B&B with unattached rooms not far from downtown. The rooms (Living, bed and bath) were a wonderful change from a standard B&B or hotel design. We Loved the privacy and peacefulness of no neighboring room, or hallway to amplify voices and footsteps. The large bathroom with 2 person whirlpool and shower were very enjoyable and we miss them already. Continental breakfast was delivered to our room and included croissants, cereal, fruit, OJ, and yoghurt which filled us up. The owners and staff were friendly, accommodating, informative and even booked an in room couples massage for us. Definitely a wonderful place to spend quality time together. We will be back when we get some time away from the kids again.

Most of the other reviews capture this place perfectly. We went up to Lake Geneva from Chicago for a quick getaway and it was perfect. Sevenoaks is walking distance to both the lake and all of the restaurants downtown. The suite we stayed in was immaculate (clean and properly constructed) and had everything we needed. The family room had a sectional sofa with a flat screen and the bedroom had a connected bathroom with heated floors, heated towel rack and whirlpool tub. When we arrived we were greeted with a bottle of wine and a cheese plate which was nice. They also brought us a nice breakfast in the morning to start our day. The owners were very nice and made sure we had everything we needed. We would come back for sure.

We celebrated our 40th anniversary at Seven Oaks, and not, five years later, we decided on a return visit prior to my husband's hip replacement. We stayed in the Canterbury Suite, which was as lovely as our first stay. This time, however, we had a slightly different experience.

While getting our of the car, my husband caught his leg on the bottom of the car door. Unfortunately, he didn't realize he was bleeding until he had laid down on the bed. I could tell he'd need stitches and, after settling him in the bathroom with his leg elevated on our roll-aboard and a roll of toilet paper to contain the bleeding, I went to the office for directions to the Urgent Care. Leon couldn't have been more accommodating. When I told him that he had bled on the bedspread, Leon's response as "Not to worry." He handled me the hotels first aid kit to take with us and off we went. An hour later and stitched up, we were back at Seven Oaks and thoroughly enjoyed the rest of our stay.

Seven Oaks is as close to perfection as is possible.

Room Tip: They're all good!

My husband and I just returned from a two day getaway to Lake Geneva for his 60th birthday. We stayed in the Oxford Suite at Seven Oaks and we were very pleased with our visit. Each suite is a stand alone building- ours was a 1 bedroom with a living room area with fireplace, small table and TV complete with a DVD player. There is a kitchen area with microwave, nice size mini fridge, coffee pot and tea maker with Starbucks coffee and a beautiful assortment of teas. The bed was very comfy and the bathroom is very nicely appointed with heated floors, Jacuzzi, heated towel bar and spa like shower. The front porch with rocking chairs is a wonderful place to eat the breakfast that is delivered to you daily (breads, cereals, yogurt and fruit- nicely presented) or to have a cup of coffee or a glass of wine in the afternoon.

The owners are a married couple from England, we didn't meet the wife but Leon is very friendly and most accommodating. Carol is the woman who delivers breakfast and we had a very nice time chatting with her- each encounter with anyone on staff was very pleasant.

My husband is a hotel owner himself and there were a couple things we felt could have been done differently. As mentioned in other reviews, there is a cheese plate and bottle of wine waiting for you at check in. They ask what kind of wine you want and ours was not what my husband asked for. Also, while the cheese is a nice touch, don't expect a gourmet cheese plate, it seemed more like deli cheese from the supermarket. As mentioned, we were celebrating my husband's 60th birthday and he had mentioned that to Leon several times throughout the series of conversations/e-mails they had while planning our visit. We were surprised there wasn't anything in the room acknowledging his birthday- even just a note wishing him a happy birthday would have been a nice touch. The set up of the suite makes it difficult to manage the room temperature between the living room and bedroom as the air conditioning unit is in the living room on the other end of the suite. It was not really warm when we were there yet the bedroom seemed warm even when we had the air on full blast. Not sure what it would be like if it was really hot outside. Finally a nice touch would be to have cushions for the rocking chairs.

As you can see, our criticisms are very minor and do not affect our overall rating of 5 stars. This place is FANTASTIC and we highly recommend it for any couple who wants to get away and be close to town (10 minute walk) yet have a place to just sit and relax. We will definitely go back!
