We just returned from a long weekend in Lake Geneva. We chose the TC Smith Inn because we were able to bring our dog along. Most places that I looked into either charged a large fee/deposit to bring your pet or simply did not allow animals. We were so pleased to learn that we would be able to bring our “child” with us! The innkeeper welcomed our dog as a guest, had special treats for him, and even offered to watch him if we wanted to go out and leave him there. You’re not going to find that kind of hospitality anywhere else! Maureen, the innkeeper, was absolutely accommodating and so friendly! Upon arriving and meeting her, we immediately felt like she was family that we were visiting for the weekend. There wasn’t another guest staying this particular weekend so she gave us a tour of the house, showed us all the rooms, and let us pick out which one we wanted to stay in. The fireplace in the room was a nice added touch. She left gift certificates to different area restaurants for us, had wine waiting each night, candles, and basically everything we could possibly need while we were there. She was so helpful and was able to answer any questions we had about the area or things we were thinking about doing. The location of the B&B could not have been better. We were 2 blocks, or a 5 minute walk, from Main Street, all the shops, the lake, the beach, boating, restaurants, hiking, horseback riding, and every amenity. The house was so warm and had so much character! It was very comfortable and nice to come home to at the end of a long day! One of my favorite things about the inn was the amazing bathrooms! I used the Jacuzzi tub every night and was in heaven! We don’t have one of those in our high-rise in downtown Chicago! Last but finally not least, the breakfast we were served each morning was out of this world! Egg soufflés, homemade French toast on homemade bread, fresh fruits, juice, fresh coffee all formally served on china with silver place settings- so nice! We were sad to leave and can’t wait to come back again!!!
