“Great place on snowmobile trail”
Reviewed 29 January 2014

We stopped for lunch while out snowmobiling. The food and service was very good. I had soup and salad bar. The rueben soup was declicious. Nice atmosphere, good service. You can't beat north woods bar/restaurants they are the best.

“You gotta try it!”
Reviewed 8 July 2013

Land O'Lakes is a small community with this great restaurant. When you drive up to the restaurant there is a bicycle hanging in a tree~~that alone draws you into the place. Bar, games, tables, patio dining. The menu is something to behold~~different choices. Everytime I go there I choose something different. The crab cakes are to die for. The fried chicken yum. The steaks are the best around. Pulled pork on pretzel bread~OMG. The hamburger with bacon~best around. The bacon is like nothing I ever ate before. I could go on but I think you get the point. And most especially the prices are very reasonable. The bartenders, and wait staff are exceptional. Everything is clean and neat. The bathroom is super clean.

“Excellent Pulled Pork Sandwich”
Reviewed 21 February 2013

Friendly service and an excellent pulled pork sandwich. My wife had homemade potato soup that she raved about. Very nice atmosphere. Large portions and moderately priced. Will definitely go back. A big thumbs up.

“Fun spot”
Reviewed 30 July 2012

A local spot, and people were friendly and welcoming to tourists. Food was great, drinks were affordable, darts and jukebox made it a fun spot to stay for an evening.

“Classic northwoods bar and grill”
Reviewed 9 July 2012

Black Oak has a huge local following and does virtually no advertising. The atmosphere is knotty pine with literally hundreds of fish and animal mounts. The restaurant is known for its daily homemade soups and deserts, including amazing tortes. They serve the largest chicken wings you'll find anywhere. Many sandwiches are panini style and huge! Potato options include homemade chips that are served with your own dish of onion dip. There's a weekly Mexican night menu, rather unusual for northern Wisconsin. The classic Friday night fish fry is the best. No matter when you visit, come with a big appetite; they'll feed you well. Seating for dining is limited, but in summer, there's also a nice screened in porch with more seating. This is a family managed restaurant and bar and the owners are very cordial and caring. Unfortunately, during the summer season there seems to be so many different servers and bartenders that you don't feel like you know any of them and they don't know you either, but that's a minor issue.
