Generally this hotel might be OK if nothing else is available, but there are a number of reservations. My 3rd floor room was on the expressway side, barely a half block away, so it was very noisy. At times it sounded like the room was right on the road. This hotel is built with rooms around a large central echo-producing courtyard, a design which must have been considered stylish at one time, but it unfortunately also contributes to the already heavy road-side noise level.
The toiletries were all of the odoriferous Aroma Therapy brand, a type which currently may stylish and appealing to some people. However, to many people like myself, they are irritating at best, and down right allergenic at worst. It seems I need to carry my own along now, and not rely on the hotel to supply them on-site.
The Wi-FI service cost $12 which was outrageous considering the service was very slow and that it is free in most lower priced hotels.. Overall the hotel is not worth the price, and is nothing special. At best choose it for basic lodging if you can't find anything else.

Room Tip: Don't get a roadside room!!

Every year, Marriott Madison West hosts TeslaCon, when for three or four days over a thousand costumed lunatics descend on Middleton to celebrate and participate in the steampunk fandom. Even before I arrived, I was amazed and delighted to see hotel staff posting on the event's facebook page about how excited they were and how some of them were already planning their own costumes.

From the moment my partner and I checked in, we were made to feel so very welcome. Staff never looked twice at the array of costumes, accents and behaviour on display and were unfailingly friendly, helpful and apparently pleased to be hosting the convention. It's an amazing event in many, many ways, but it wouldn't be the same without the brilliantly positive attitude of the staff.

Added to that, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and even though the hotel's decor looks slightly dated there's a grand feel to the place - especially the ten story atrium in the center of the hotel. It's also close to a variety of local shops and restaurants (walking distance!), and offers a free shuttle service to and from Madison airport. If there's any down side, it's that I've got used to free internet in hotels, and so $13 dollars a day seemed steep.

I appreciate the consistent quality with Marriott. California two weeks ago, Middletown WI this week. It's like home, everyone is friendly from the shuttle driver, who knew every route and time, answered questions from everyone with such gusto. The concierge lounge service exceptional! The rooms consistent across the board. Again it is nice to go from one coast to the next and find the same quality and service! Two thumbs up for Marriott.

I loved this place. First of all the people are incredible. I had forgotten to register with the conference room rate and they adjusted everything for me. The room was incredibly clean and no perfume cover-up. It was legitimately clean!! The food in the atrium restaurant was worth every penny and the waiter treated us like royalty. He was entertaining as well. Everything at the conference that I attended was very elegant. I would never hesitate to return. Even the environment is lovely, with a beautiful water feature and a bank of glass elevators.

Room Tip: It was a bit noisy while we were trying to go to sleep because of the design of each room exiting to...

Place: Seems like Marriott bought out an Embassy Suites, with their characteristic 10 story atrium in the center of the building that gives the now Marriott Madison West its signature grand look. The café/ restaurant is named after the cascading waterfall that envelopes the open glass elevators. On the west side of Madison in Middleton, it is close to the airport and most west side attractions. Downtown Madison is less than a 20 minute drive. A shuttle can transport to/ from the airport and most local attractions.

Hospitality: The staff does a tremendous job of ensuring that they make you feel at home with their true Midwest hospitality. They are simply awesome!

Bar/ Restaurant: The bar is nicely stocked and serves up a good selection on locally brewed beers. The bar attendants are nice and some will engage you with their casual conversation. the food, however, is another matter. While 'not bad', expected that a full service Marriott will serve up some better tasting and well presented entrees. They fail on that account - breakfast is decent, but would not recommend having lunch/dinner at the restaurant. The concierge lounge, if you happen to have the privileges and access, is located on the 10th floor and serves a decent continental breakfast, evening hors d'oeuvres with an honor bar and dessert.

Facilities: A very nicely equipped gym with the latest in equipment entices you to work of all the beer and cheese curds that you are likely to have. They even have it stocked with fresh fruit! There is a nice looking swimming pool that I have yet to experience firsthand.

Rooms: are comfortable and nicely appointed. They have recently undergone an extensive renovation and it shows in the sparkling rooms. You do get some noise from the atrium or the highway if you are a light sleeper like me!

Room Tip: Ofcourse, on the concierge level (10th floor) corner suites on the side away from the highway.

This was my first stay at this property but it won't be my last. The hotel staff, from the front desk to the maids and even the maintenance man walking down the hallway has a smile on their face and a greeting. The concierge lounge was perfect for my small meeting and Susan the night concierge lounge manager was 5 star. The first lounge that actually had folded linen napkins and Susan was so helpful she should be a trainer for Marriott. One of the best Marriott properties I have stayed at in the U.S. The front desk staff to include Clint and Tanisha were super so friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: I was on the 6th floor and had no problems I don't think i would want to stay any lower

This hotel is only 15-20 minutes form the airport. When I checked in the staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating. The restaurant food in the lobby is ok and would have expected a little better offering due to this is a full service Marriott.

The concierge lounger is large enough for a big crowd but thankfully it was not crowded when I was their. I do not remember the young lady who was working the lounge on October 9th but she was fun and interacted with all the jest. Nice job!!!

The rooms are clean and comfortable with all the upgrades. I look forward to my next trip to this hotel
