Description: It was 1974 when our country had its first gas crisis. The price of gasoline was skyrocketing, gas stations were closing nationwide, and carmakers began exploring how to develop cars that got better mileage. But for George "Jig" Warren III and Gary "Moe" Meszaros, it wasn't about better mileage or for that matter even obeying the new 55 M.P.H speed limit. It was about finding a home to preserve the culture of those old gas stations and high-powered muscle cars. So was born Quaker Steak & Lube(R), a "Cook Your Own Steak" restaurant that gave old muscle cars a permanent home, which included a 1936 Chevrolet, frozen in time on the original hydraulic grease rack. It is from these beginnings that the Quaker Steak & Lube(R) family of restaurants began. Today, "The Lube(R)" serves over 80 million wings annually, has bottled sauces for retail sale, has won the title of "Best Wings USA," and has hundreds of local, national, and international awards for their sauce recipes. Over 60 locations throughout the United States and Canada, "The Lube(R)" is still rescuing muscle cars, vintage cars, trucks and a vast selection of custom and antique motorcycles, giving them good homes hanging from the walls and ceilings in each restaurant.

...unless you like cold food and bad service. We had to go here for a party and when the food came out it was cold, and the server completely forgot to take the order for one of us. And never saw him again once the food was served. Then we waited, and waited for the check. We won't go back to this place or any other QS&L.

This is one of my favorite restaurants, period. I have never had better chicken wings anywhere else- large, juicy, and with a huge selection of fantastic homemade wing sauces. I like Buffalo Wild Wings, but BWW just can't compete with this place on wings. My personal favorite is their Arizona Ranch- medium heat with a great creamy ranch flavor. The burgers, sandwiches, and other fare are also very good- but please, at least try the wings! I personally prefer bone-in wings, but they also make good boneless wings.

Great beer selection as well- lots of local Wisconsin/Madison brews on tap. Good place to catch games on TV.

Thank Ben W

Took my friend here for lunch. Ordered burgers. Fries that came with were cold to touch? Burgers were tasty. Thoughts prices were a bit high for lunch in Madison area

Popular restaurant near Middleton, WI. Good food, decent prices. Family friendly place.

Have been there several times for lunch with business associates and dinner during the week; occasionally on weekend.

Food has included salads, burgers, cheese steaks, ribs, steaks, wings, chicken, and BBQ. Feedback has always been positive from others in my party.

Occasionally coupons in the mail.

Decor: A lot of motoring related items on the walls and ceiling, including full size automobiles and motorcycles. Fun for motoring enthusiasts and children.

Call to see if a "special night" (e.g. bike night) when restaurant can be very busy.

Quaker Steak & Lube was my go-to place for wings in Madison. I'll admit, I never had anything other than wings here, and that would continue to be the trend whenever I'm back in the area.

If you're up for it, Tuesdays are the days to go here. $13 for all-you-can-eat wings and I must praise the wings for their quality. I love how Quaker Steak & Lube has a lot of flavors and seasonings for their wings. I'd say between 20-25. I believe they implemented new dry rubs within the past year or so and they were pretty good.

Overall, superior wings and good atmosphere, bar, and lots of TVs.
