Went with some friends. Neat decor, in basement. Very New Orleans style. The salad that came with the entree was nice and there were a choice of homemade salad dressings, one of which was a real raspberry vinegrette which had read chunks of raspberries in it; and I had a cajun style dressing which was very very good.

I ordered the chef's choice. I got the blackened catfish with pecan encrusted outside. There was a very nice flavor, just enough heat in your mouth without burning. Perfect heat, actually. I have had nothing quite like this and it was excellent. Was served on a bed of dirty rice with mixed vegetables. Highly recommend.

Ordered a creme brulee; again, I was amazed at the quality. Very creamy, almost like a torte yet rich chocolate.

I would go back. The price wasn't bad either. About $35/pp with drinks.

Louisianne's in Middleton is hidden down a flight of stairs on a side street across from the more well known Hubbard St Dinner. Seek it out and don't miss it. The food is excellent, the service is superb and the weekend music sets the perfect mood.

First time here and we all had a fabulous experience. Nice wine list variety in prices and selection. Pulled pork crepes to start that were different and had great flavor. My wife had red snapper special that was moist and flavorful. I had crawfish etouffe that I loved. Companion had jambalaya that she thought was very good. It's in a basement, but doesn't feel like a basement. Decor gives it a nice bistro feel.

This is our 'go to' place in the Middleton area. I love the ambiance - it is in the 'basement', with stone walls and low lighting. The service is very good, and the food is excellent. There is often a jazz pianist which is a delightful addition. It is a bit small and the seating is tight, but this is well worth a visit. It is a great place for a romantic meal, or a wonderful location for a quiet get together with friends and family away from the usual TV-crowded, loud restaurants that are all too common today.
