It was about 10:30 on a Saturday morning before we were going to check out after a two day stay. We went up to the second floor overlooking the lobby to view some of the extensive art collection the hotel has. Also, on this level were several photos and memorabile of the hotels history. An employee came up to us and asked whether we had any questions. She spoke of the history of the hotel. She probably spent 10 minutes with us elaborating about the hotel. she mentioned she had been head of housekeeping for 15 years. The pride she took in her job and the PASSION for carrying it out were evident. My wife and I realized this had been what we had experienced from all staff for the two nights we were there, whether it was the front desk or the person working at Starbucks. Now for some of the more practical matters. Eating in the cafe for breakfast. It is about 25% more than if you went to a regular breakfast places. However, it is a hotel and you should expect that. The lounge in Blu on the 23rd floor is great if you like a subdued atmosphere with a great view. The tower rooms wher we stayed were large, clean and had all the amenities you would need. The soft pillows were great. If you are just looking for a place to sleep at night, then the Pfister is probably not for you. If you want to share in an era where customer service was a priority and the grandeur of a great hotel, then this hotel should work for you.

Room Tip: Any of the tower rooms should be good. They are all away from the elevators. There are some with a l...

Stayed for two nights with family members attending a wedding held at the Fister. I'm a Milwaukee residence and avoids been proud of the Fister. However, something has taken place which is causing the Pfister to slip both an appearance and service. Andrew not prepared on time. The carpeting looked matted and worn. The bed was uncomfortable and was tilted forward to make me feel I was sleeping on a bouncy incline. I didn't think the room was worth what we paid nor does it compare with the many hotels I have stayed in over the last couple of years. I am a frequent travelers have experienced many different levels and brands of hotel. Said to say the Pfister is definitely not what it once was. there are certainly better values in Milwaukee. On a positive note we loved meeting in the lobby every morning for coffee and enjoying the comfort of the lobby. However, I do not understand being served coffee and a paper cup at a high-end allegedly five-star hotel.

We stayed at a different hotel but walked to the Pfister lobby bar to start each day with their world famous Bloody Mary's! They are expensive, but worth it! They serve them with a meal on top...shrimp, cheese, pepperoni, celery, olives, etc.

Also, the lobby bar is a great place to people watch! We were in town for Summerfest and it was great seeing Aerosmith and other band members in the lobby!

Either stay here or visit the lobby bar whenever you are in Milwaukee!

We stayed at the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee from July 4 - July 8. We had a king bed in the tower portion of the hotel. Our room had a nice view of the city and the hotel lobby was amazingly beautiful, but let's face it - the lobby is not where you spend most of your time. Our room had old carpeting that had not been cleaned in awhile - dirt and fingernail clippings on the carpets (gross!). The window in the room is a large bay window however the ceiling above the window was crumbling down on to the bay window seating area. There is no mini fridge in the room, which would have been nice since the temperatures outside were in the 100's for most of our stay. The bed had a pillow top that was wearing out because all of the stuffing was relocated to the foot of the bed causing you to sleep at a slant with your head slightly lower. The bathrooms are small but the granite was pretty. Overall, for the kind of money we were paying ($200+/night) I would recommend staying somewhere else. Not as impressive as what I had expected from previous reviews.

Room Tip: Loczted right down down just a couple blocks walk from the lake front and the city's art museum...

*** This is a review only for the Blue Bar, on the Pfister hotel tower top floor, not of the actual hotel ***
I was there for a pre dinner drink with my girlfriend, while visiting Milwaukee.
The place was comfortable and the view beautiful. We had a couple of drinks, and a cheese fondue that was delicious and filling.

Nice, prompt service.

I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Pfister and was delighted with the hotel, staff and room accommodations. The staff really set the place apart. They were genuinely friendly and accommodating at every encounter except the Spa. I wasn't impressed with the staff at the desk at the Spa. I didn't get past that encounter to see if the Spa itself was okay. The art collection at the hotel is amazing for such a setting and the actual hotel is full of history and original features. While the rooms are not large in the original section, the bed was comfortable. And the view from the top of the new section was just fabulous, especially the water views. If I am ever in Milwaukee again, the Pfister would be my first choice.

Starting out I would like to send compliments to Jessica @ the front desk and Will who answered our room service calls for in-rrom p.m dining. The two of them, along with the staff that works at the parking booth (in/out privileges) should all be complimented, as they all had the nicest attitudes and their professionalism should be commended. We were in town for two nights, and requested two connecting lake view rooms (added fee) for our party of 4 (2 adults and 2 older teens), and the requests were noted and we received what we asked for. Jessica made the registration process really quick and efficient. The in and out parking option is great, and the ladies we encountered at the parking booth were all full of smiles and they were very professional and knowledgable with basic directions. We had p.m spa services, and the actual services were fantastic (we are avid spa-goers and tough critics), however the check in process at the spa left a lot to be desired, as the two desk attendants were not very spa like and not very warm. One of them directed us to the lower level where she just stood there as we poured water and awkwardly handed us sheets asking for more info...Also, when it was time to check out of the spa, they were not very receptive. This had to be the biggest negative, as more would be expected from them. And the check in point for the spa, is in a space just off the bustling lobby, which is not really ideal.
Room service was ordered both nights, and the man who accepted our calls, Will, was very professional, reviewed the order each time, and both nights, the meals arrived on time, and were brought by a smiling staff member. The rooms are well appropriated and there is a charm to the decor. It may not be the hippest, but that is not the Pfister's m.o....the t-stat only went down to 68*f, and on the first night (while it was 90+ outside) the room was not especially cool. We have visited the Pfister many times in the past, and we will do so again in the near future.

Room Tip: The upper lake view rooms, while an added cost, provide wonderful view.
