The Pfister is really tweo hotels in one. The main building is ornate, historic and (depending on your viewpoint) full of charm or old and stuffy. The other half is a more contemporary circular tower with rooms arranged as wedges around the circular floors. Some of these have nice views. Many of these have been recently redone in a "black and mirrored" style. I like the original building, and always try to get a room there if available.
The hotel is frequented by MANY large groups, sports teams, etc. and so can be quite crowded at any time of year.
The Mason Street Grill, accessible from inside the hotel, serves good food.
