The pointe was all the comments given stated and more. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was very clean and comfortable and the view was beautiful. They served a nice complimentary breakfast each day and the pool and hot tub were very nice. Great location.
I would certainly stay there again and would recommend it to my friends.

Room Tip: We stayed on the third floor for the best views.

My friend & I just came back from a 4-day stay at the Pointe. What a wonderful place! We initially reserved a 1-bedroom suite, but negotiated a 2-bedroom standard suite for only $50/night more. The 2-bedroom deluxe suite had a whirlpool bath in one bedroom & 1 king & 2 twin beds in the bedrooms. We gladly gave up the whirlpool (in the summer?) & were happy with the 2 queen beds in the standard suite. The place was spotless & the furniture very comfortable. The beds were rather firm as someone previously mentioned, but it didn't bother us. The screened porch was great, although the view from the 3rd floor was obstructed by trees & the board that separated the top & bottom screens. But, we still enjoyed sitting out there with our morning coffee & evening glass of wine, listening to the loons. The breakfast was not extensive, but was fine for us-make-your-own waffles, sausages, breakfast potatoes, biscuits & sausage gravy (very good), cereals, breads & OJ. The staff was very friendly, especially Tonja at the front desk. We wondered if she ever went home! The only bumps we had were no corkscrew in the kitchen (Tonja looked in several vacant suites & all of them were missing corkscrews-apparently a popular item for guests to take home with them) & having only a couple small pots & pans to cook with (we made dinner one night). But, we worked around these small issues & had a great time. I definitely would recommend it & hope I can go back there soon!

Room Tip: All rooms & suites face the lake. The rooms on the north side towards town & the bridge will...

Dear Guest,

Thank you for the nice review of our lodging property. I am glad that you found your accommodations comfortable and your stay enjoyable. As you found, there is nothing better than sitting outside on our units' balcony decks or patios and not only hearing the call of the loons in the evening, but many of our guest experiences also include taking pictures of bald eagles in our trees lining the lake shoreline. It was great having you as our guest and we hope to see you again, soon. Thank you.

The Pointe is a great choice when looking for quality lodging in the northwoods of Wisconsin. Our stay over the 4th of July holiday was for the most part, a wonderful one. Warm, genuine hospitality from all staff. Common areas are well-maintained and clean. Rooms have wonderful views of Lake Minocqua. Kitchen was a welcome addition. Rooms include a full size refrigerator, coffee pot, toaster, silverware, dishes, glasses, electric stove, flat screen tv in both bedroom and living room. Patio with two chairs and table.

Bathroom sink counters are extremely small leaving little room to hold your toiletries. Be advised that refrigerator compressors run a lot when refrigerator is empty. This is an issue when trying to sleep on the sleeper sofa. It's just the nature of a refrigerator and not the fault of the hotel. Mattress in room #201 was on the firm, uncomfortable side, making for a sore back the first morning. Continental breakfast was adequate but not as good as many chain hotels. We opted for breakfast at The Island Cafe, just over the bridge. Great choice! We met many folks there who had bad experiences at the Paul Bunyan restaurant and were grateful to find this local gem.

Although this property has its quirks, it remains an excellent choice for quality lodging in Minocqua. We would not hesitate to return and thank all the staff for ensuring our stay was a relaxing one!

We have stayed at The Pointe Resort in the past and have always been happy with our experience. We were satisfied again during the 4th of July weekend. We spent 2 nights here. We had a suite with one king bed and a queen size bed on the lower level with views of the bridge and Lake Minocqua. The room included a frig, microwave, and large flat screen TV. Friendly staff, adequate continental breakfast every morning. We met some nice guests from Minneapolis and Maryland. The patio door lock was broken but a security bar over the door made the room feel secure. We booked a 3 hour Pontoon ride and tour through Minocqua Pontoon. It was fantastic! We saw eagles, loons and other wildlife, beautiful homes and boat houses! Our tour guide and driver George had a wonderful personality! We would highly recommend! We went one day to the Minocqua Brewery for lunch and its was a wonderful experience! The meal was delicious and so was the Nut Brown Ale!

Room Tip: By restaurant I am speaking about the continental breakfast that they provide every morning free as...

I love staying at hotels that include a fully functioning kitchen. At the Pointe, you will feel completely at home. You can walk into the picturesque town of Minocqua and enjoy the many different options for dining, shopping and sightseeing. Add to the fact that the hotel is right on the lake, and you'll find that The Pointe can't be beat. Enjoy!

JWH: Thanks for your review of our property. All our suites have fully functional kitchens and we also offer numerous outdoor gas grill patios; both being very popular with our guests. As for your comment about walking into town, many guests leave their autos parked at the hotel and take the comfortable walk (2/10ths mile) while enjoying the scenery of Lake Minocqua. With 800 feet of frontage and every room overlooking the lake, The Pointe is a special place to spend a night, weekend or weeks vacation; glad you could experience The Pointe Hotel & Suites of Minocqua.

My family and I stayed at The Pointe over Memorial Day weekend. I got a really great deal on a Premier 1BR suite (I think it averaged $99/night). We all thought it was a great place to stay. We enjoyed the free breakfast each morning. The staff we encountered were very friendly. The location is fabulous. You are literally minutes from just about anything - Minocqua is such a beautiful place! We loved waking up to the sound of the loons, and on our last morning were treated to a bald eagle perched right outside of our window high up in a tree that had no leaves - so a very great view.
The hotel was quiet, though I believe they were full. The pool was clean, and we also took advantage of the hot tub and sauna. Didn't make it down tot he firepit - next time!
