My husband and I stopped in New Glarus on a road trip to Mineral Point and Spring Green, and made our lunch destination at Glarner Stube. It's simple but delicious American and Swiss cuisine. At lunch I enjoyed a cup of the marvelous Beef Stroganoff soup - clearly made from scratch - and a BLT on toasted sourdough bread. My husband enjoyed a wonderful prime rib sandwich. This place is always busy - a great sign! - but the host was very accommodating and so we waited 10 minutes or so to be seated and were glad that we did!

The food was very good! It was a very busy Friday night but we were able to get in right away and the waitress did a great job.

We decided to check this place out since a local suggested it. The restaurant is located in an old somewhat worn 19th century building in downtown New Glarus. My wife had a generously portioned rueben sandwich with German potato salad and red cabbage. We were surprised the cabbage and potato salad had an overly vinegar taste compared to other samples we've had elsewhere. The special of the day: prime rib sandwich, was superb for the $11 cost.

Great place to eat. I’d say it’s one of the best in the entire town. It’s not a real big place so get there early or be prepared to wait. There fish is phenomenal.

Our first trip here from talking to a local. Swiss/ American meal. Nicely decorated but very old but nice. We had a great waitress Sherry and very friendly and helped up with selecting from menu. We had a pork sandwich with German potato salad and a prime rib sandwich with red cabbage. The service was spot on and it matched the meal. Sunday being at 5:30 and it was standing room only. Great choice!
