The Swiss aire motel in New Glarus Wisconsin is under new management and they have really turned the place around. They have remodeled and bought all new furniture and bedding. They are pet friendly and very clean. Please give it a try!

I put my hesitations on hold and rebooked at the Swiss-Aire--one of the few pet-friendly locations in the area--and I was more than pleasantly surprised.

The new owners are spiffin' the place up and the new carpets certainly helped. The King-bed in #18 was comfy & seemed new. The interior colors are still very 80's, but clean.

Yes, there is still work to be done, but don't let old posts put you off on this one, it's close to the Sugar River Trail and that's what I was there for...

Continental Breakfast wasn't yet an option in early-season, so stay tuned on that item.

If this wasn't in a resort area, we would have been astounded at the price, because the room and "reception area" were low-end at best -- less inviting than the Motel 6's we've stayed in, when we are looking for economy lodging. The owners don't seem to take any personal interest in this operation. The room was clean, the beds comfortable, the basics functioned (heat, windows) -- but no attention to detail. The continental breakfast was really disappointing -- we've had better continental breakfasts in chain motels -- no bagels, no muffins, no cereal, no milk! Orange juice in a carton, pretty good danish, grocery store wheat and white bread (in a town with a superior bakery!). The towel bar in our room was broken, one of the pillows didn't have a pillow case. In short -- for a little care, and a few extra dollars, this would be a place we'd go back to in a New York minute. Instead, we will be looking very closely for alternate lodging when we return to this lovely area -- or we'll ask for a deep discount off their rack rates!

My husband and I used to love this little motel but it changed ownership a few years ago and it's really gone downhill since. The rooms haven't been renovated in ages and the last time we stayed the carpets were worn, curtains falling down, windows wouldn't open, and worst of all, the place smelled terrible. We left early. There used to be flower boxes and it was neat and clean. Now it stinks. Literally.

This hotel is a small Motor Inn. I was in the new section which had inside entrances. The room was clean and comfortable, but getting in late found I had no electricity. There was a circuit blown and unfortunately the staff was not at the desk that time of night. No discount was given for the inconvience. There are other hotels in town with more character that I would recommend.
