We spent a week at the Olympia for the Dachshund Club of America dog show. We had a "king suite", with a bedroom with king bed, 2 full baths, and a very large living room with a sleeper sofa, dining table, and wet bar area with microwave, sink and refrigerator. My husband and I stayed in the bedroom and a friend slept on the sofa in the living room. My only complaint about the room is that the mattress on the sleeper sofa was terrible. Since we had dogs in the room, all the furniture was covered with sheets and we put our own sheets on the bed. Sort of weird, but okay.

I wouldn't stay here otherwise but for a dog show, it worked out pretty well.

Room Tip: get a suite -- much nicer than a regular room

I only stayed one night and left early in the morning, so did not experience the whole resort setting. My bathroom was dirty, with leftover hairs and dirt in the sink and bathtub. The fixtures were old, the iron and ironing board were old, furniture, carpet, you name it. There was a newish flat-screen TV but I didn't watch it. The bed was comfortable. Being on the first floor there was a lot of noise outside the room in the hallway and outdoors. I suppose if you have a good reason to want to stay here - the resort or spa or location - it's acceptable but I'd look elsewhere if you want clean, modern facilities.

We received 2 free nights at an auction and were excited for a December get away at what we believed was a great resort. First, restaurants at the resort were closed. The only place to get dinner was a bar where the food was cold and stale. Second, the hallway going to our room had no heat and we pretty much had to put on jackets to walk to the pool. Third, the condition of our room was awful. Lights around the mirror in our bathroom were hainging out with exposed wires. We had a "suite" with a fold out couch. The bed on the couch was so bad that it could not be slept in. We had to put the mattress on the floor. Paint was peeling off the walls in both our room and the pool area. I would not recommend staying here to anyone.

My wife and I stayed at this resort on March 5, 2011, a Saturday. I was leary about staying here after reading some of the reviews, but a good friend of mine stayed at this resort for a New Years Package and said I would like it. I am glad we came here. We had a Jacuzzi suite which was very nice, the jacuzzi was in the room itself surrounded by mirrors and was very nice. The resort is an older property but overall I was quite satisfied with the resort and it's amenities. We ate dinner at Cricket's Lounge, it was their opening night, and I was very impressed with the food. It was excellent to say the least. They have a thing where you cook your food on a rock of some sort that is about 700 degrees when they bring it out. I had filet minion and it was excellent, came with potatoes, asparagus, baby carrots, as well as onions, mushrooms, and different spices and sauces you could use. We had a wonderful time in the Indigo Lounge, a very nice lounge they have there. They had Comedy NIght when we were there and the comedians were both excellent for a very reasonable price. We had the breakfast buffet in the morning and it was excellent as well with omelets and waffles cooked to order. We had a great time and we would go back again.

Positives:
The staff was great. Everyone was professional and courteous.
The check in process was fairly simple.
The lobby was nice, clean & cozy
The hotel can definately be something great with some renovation and TLC
Great location, close to Ski resort which is what I went for

Negatives:
When taking a shower, the water was luke warm
The room furniture and decor was very dated.
The back of the bathroom door was worn and rotting.
The shower is not made for anyone over 5'7, shower head too low
The walls are paper thin with 70's wallpaper
No Fans in bathroom to release steam
The tile in the bathroom seemed to have build up of mildew, mold, scum, or whatever it was it was nasty.
Went for Breakfast in the hotel and only one of the 5 coffee mugs on the table was clean.
It snowed and they did not plow and of the roads on the property...kind of dangerous

We went over Labor Day of this year. When we went to check in we were given a room that somebody had already been checked into. Jennifer at the front desk could not have been nicer about it. They gave us a suite instead of just a room to make up for the problem. She handled everything very professionaly and because of this we will be coming back. The resort itself was just great. The view from our balcony was beautiful over looking the lake. There was so much to do at the resort. Restaurant, bar with entertainment, pool, spa. It was a great way to spend a holiday weekend!

This place is, well, was beautiful. It still is in its own way but you can obviously see they are letting it go. Cant even keep up the hot water. Look around and countless things needs paint. Seriously stained sheets and curtains!
Sad! Beautiful place but most staff appeared not too concerned that they are working at a run down Spa/Resort. Food was supermarket hot bar quality if that. Scenery is the only thing its got going and that is fading. Sad, do a major clean up to your Hotel Spa Resort please and I might be back.
Anyone else experience problems with deposit?
They wanted about a 1 grand refundable deposit from me for about 5 nights!!!!!!!!
