My siblings and I, along with our spouses and 93-year old mother, spent a great weekend at Foster Retreat Center. There were 15 of us, the youngest was 54, so we were a fairly sedate bunch requiring a shelter where we could relax and spend time together. This place was ideal. Each couple got their own bedroom, and there were enough bathrooms that no one had an agonizing wait. ;) The kitchen is huge and has plenty of cookware and service for 100. No need for paper plates and cups here! We just ran the dishwasher whenever we filled it up. Another thing I liked about the kitchen was there was plenty of room for people to work without getting in each other's way. The appliances all worked well. The beds were comfortable. The fire pit was a popular spot, especially for the guys. We didn't bother watching television, although there is a comfy living room for that. I also liked that there were plenty of little corners to sit and chat with one or two others if you wanted to get away from the main gathering.
Foster Retreat Center will only get better as updates are completed. They are adding new siding and a big deck, and doing a few finishing touches on the interior.
Another nice thing I wanted to add is that the back yard is very roomy for kids to run and play, and the country atmosphere is beautiful. Great pizza can be found at the Foster Cheese Haus just down the road.
