We discovered this hidden gem of a campground in July and had a wonderful family vacation with our three kids and family dog. There was so much to do that we didn't leave the campground. From the Friday night fish fry to Sunday morning donuts, this campground hands down has the best snack bar in any campground we have been to. The mini golf course was beautiful, the kids loved the playgrounds and the dog loved the bark park. We spent many hours in the pond on the inflatable toys (which are all clearly marked with rules) and had a great time. Out of respect for any business, we go over the rules of the campground, hotel, resort, theme park, etc with our children before entering. I wish more parents would do that. I was shocked to read some of the poor reviews on this site about this campground. If everyone would abide by the rules, then there shouldn't be a problem. We saw a child jump off the side of the slide and told our kids not to even think about it. It was written about 10 times not to jump off the slide, to sit at all times, no standing and how many people could be on it. We have a waterproof camera and have pictures climbing up the slide where these rules are visible. We would not hesitate to recommend this campground to anyone and everyone and would like to thank Indian Trails Campground for providing a family, friendly place to take our children to enjoy a family getaway!

Please read if you plan on camping with your kids.

Dear Indian Trails Family,

It is with much thought and regret that the xxx and the xxx will be canceling all further trips to Indian Trails. We have had many, many great times and trips to your camp ground and are extremely disappointed that we are now moving on. Over the past year we have been made to feel not like guests, but like a nuisance. Unfortunately the gentlemen that works there (Dave) has no idea how to talk to people, show respect for people, show appreciation for people or make people feel welcome. We are not the only guests that feel this way as you will find out if you do some internet searching.

Last year I was disgusted at the way he talked to guests swimming at the pond. He was upset about people jumping off the slide. I am sure there was some print on the rules that the manufacture puts on the slide about jumping off, however we are talking about kids. He did not come down and talk to the parents to explain or ask that we make sure the kids are not jumping off, he stormed down the hill, red in the face, screaming at not only the children but the adults as well. I have never witnessed an employee/owner (if that is what he is) speak to adult customers in that manner in my life. Customers that you will see below, spend thousands of dollars a year. That same weekend my son walked out of the pool area to give me the goggles we just purchased in your store because they didn’t work. As he stepped out to hand them to me, Dave walked past and once again spoke to my son like he was ruining the entire day and the floor because there was water on it and “look at the mess you made and I now have to clean up”. Not talk….YELL. Again, unacceptable and disrespectful. These are kids swimming and having a good time. It is an indoor pool!

This past weekend, there were several kids swimming in the pool. My son was playing with his nephews and niece when once again Dave stormed into the pool area, whistled at Michael like he was a dog and proceeded to scream to “GET OFF THE ROPE”. My wife was sitting right there and a simple, please don’t let the kids play on the rope would have been sufficient. If there is a sign somewhere in the pool area about not playing on the rope, we apologize because we did not see it, nor would 10 or 12 year olds be looking for the small print somewhere on the rules governing the rope in the pool. Again, the way he spoke to the customers was appalling.

This Saturday was absolutely the final straw. During the trick or treating, the entire camp was having a great time. We had both our radios on and the xxxxx radio on. Dave proceeded to walk into our camp site and turn the radio off the Koprovics camper. He told my sister in law that our radio was fine. Now, mind you the trick or treating had just ended as you know. We had the radios on louder than normal because people walking buy were having a good time, singing along and acting goofy. All in good fun. After Dave walked away, went to talk to the people with the ghost buster movie on, which by the way was louder than any music we played AND went on hours after we were talked to like the camp problem customers, he proceeded to come back and once again talk to my sister in law with a condescending and rude tone with “I already told you to turn that down”. Well, Dave, we didn’t touch our radio and it was at the exact same volume it was when you said it was alright. I believe it was shortly after that that there were kids riding their bikes and once again yelled at for going too fast. Too fast? These are kids on bikes! Not cars. Apparently there were kids swinging too high as well. (Wow, that one shocks me) As if it was not enough that Dave apparently already “handled” (in a uncalled for manor) the radio catastrophe, he proceeded to walk past Cody and I as we were fishing, turn around, walked back over to me and give me a hard time about the radio. Told me how we are “not allowed to push our music off on other customers”. Apparently it was ok for the former permanent site camping guests to “push there movie off on other campers”. Not that we cared, but, if you are going to be rude and condescending, don’t pick and choose!

This summer the kids were riding at the BMX park, without helmets. The rules are to wear a helmet, however this has never been an issue. Once again, these are young kids out riding bikes and did not set out to break any rules. Again, Dave in full disrespectful and rude behavior yelled at the children. No talking, no explaining, just plain out spoke to them like, god forbid, he would talk to his own children.

The list goes on and on. If you want more examples, please ask. I will be glad to share them.

We have always been VERY good customers to Indian Trails. I estimate that between the xxxxx and both xxxxx families we have spent in the $5,000 dollar range between site rental, food purchases, clothing purchases (At least 3 sweatshirts every year!!!), candy, miniature golf, video games, canoe trips and whatever else we have chosen to spend our hard earned money on at your campground. This doesn’t include the several people I have recommended your campground too, the Friends that have stayed with us on weekends over the years,

This is not an easy decision for us as you know we really enjoyed spending time there (a lot of time!), but, there are a lot of nice campgrounds in Wisconsin that I am very positive will treat us with respect and treat us as valued customers. We were so disgusted with our experience this past weekend that we stopped at 2 campgrounds on the way home yesterday and booked trips for next year.

This email is a written notice to cancel all trips for the next year and the year after that. We do not expect to pay any type of cancelation fee as we are giving you a year’s notice and the fact that it is Dave’s complete lack of customer service and constant condescending attitude as to why we are canceling. He has pushed us out which apparently has been his goal. Well, it worked Dave.

Obviously please also remove our names from the permanent site list. We had liked it there so much, we were going to make Indian Trails our permanent summer getaway!

I do want to acknowledge that the rest of your staff is very kind, considerate, respectful and pleasant to be around. Tiffany has always been a wonderfully gracious host and if/when she takes over someday and Dave is gone, we will be glad to come back and spend our money again. Until that day, we wish you the best of luck. If Dave continues to treat guests the way he does, in a 100% customer service driven business, you will need all the luck you can get. . Funny thing about treating customers well, you treat people good they tell 2 or 3 people, you treat people with absolute unprofessionalism and disrespect, they tell 10 people!

I would like to start off this review by saying that we have been camping at Indian Trails for five years. Our usual setup involves two – four other families and we get sites all together. This campground has been our absolute favorite up until this current year. I have nephews and nieces all ages, and we spend about five weekends here Memorial Day until the end of September. We also camp at three or four other campgrounds in addition to Indian Trails and NEVER have any issues anywhere else. We are very respectful campers who follow rules and have good kids whom are also aware of what the rules are and follow them. This year, every single trip, was horrible for us. There is a man, who we believe to be the owners boyfriend or partner, who is awful. I can imagine that it is challenging running a large campground because I am sure there are disrespectful and unruly patrons who need to be reminded of the rules. We are not those people. The year started out with this man screaming at my nephew and a few other kids about jumping off of the inflatable in the pond. As another review said, there is no sign. I can understand if maybe someone was injured or if it was deemed dangerous by the owners to do that, but it was not necessary to scream at the kids and use the tone and wording that he used with them. Throughout the summer, we have been harassed by this same man for having too big of a campfire (instead of six inches high it was maybe ten, but there was no way we were going to get out a ruler to measure, but in no way dangerous or out of control), driving recklessly through the campground because our vehicle matched the color of the one reported – I assure you that would never be something we would do, as my nephew was on his bike and almost hit by someone going too fast through the campground so we are super paranoid about this. We are repeatedly yelled at for loud music. This guy even came onto our site and went up to our camper and turned off the outdoor stereo while we were there. It was not too loud, not even close, but he screamed that the only music allowed was a small radio at your feet that only you could hear and we are not allowed to impose our music on other campers. He yelled at us, and I was very apologetic. He left, came back and yelled at us about the same incident, then chased down my brother to yell at him about the same incident. He screams (seriously, SCREAMS) at kids riding their bikes to fast or swinging too high on the swings, ect. The kids walked through the indoor pool, that has a wet deck obviously, and left wet footprints with their shoes from the exit of the pool to the main exit to go outside (not dripping swimsuits, just wet shoes) and my 10 yo nephew was screamed at by this man about “the mess he made that now needs to be cleaned up”. They get screamed at for hanging on the rope in the pool. When I say screamed it, I honestly mean SCREAMED at. He is rude and condescending and apparently thinks he can treat customers however he wants because he wants everyone to know he is in charge. We are NEVER going back to this campground. He completely ruined our last Halloween trip with his rantings. There are other great campgrounds in that area and throughout Wisconsin. I suggest to anyone thinking of camping at Indian Trails to consider one of those other places.

We have been camping at Indian trails for many years and until this past year it has been are favorite place to camp. We will no longer be camping there. The owner's boyfriend Dave walks around the campground yelling at everyone, including children and he is not nice about it. He will scream at little children in the pool for playing on the rope, when talking to them in a normal voice would be sufficient. He went absolutely nuts on a large group of people who were jumping off the floats in the pond by screaming at children and adults alike, when once again a talking to them in an adult manner would have been suffiicient. He walks around personally yelling at people for their music being to loud and physically yelling at them, "we do not impose our music on other campers." Even when the music is not loud and it is being enjoyed by the whole group camping around it. He will scream at children for riding bikes to fast. This man has a huge anger problem and we will no longer be camping there. We come with a group and the whole group has decided to take their money elsewhere.

We went as a family camping in our pop up Hubby myself and 6 kids - oldest is 18 and needed car pass to enter park - first nite there he pulled in to camp site to get me (mom) to go get his car pass - was followed to our site by some guy on foot whom knocked on his car window to tell him he needed a car pass - when my son said yes Im getting my mom to get that for me guy proceeded to raise voice yelling "NO YOU NEED TO GO TO THE OFFICE NOW to get he pass. Was very rude. 2nd night there kids were at the pond on floatables - other 14 year old son was jumping (not diving) off the top of the floatables - some guy (campgound worker) yells to my son and his friend " do you 2 know how to read?, if not maybe you better go back to school" and then said nothing else.. the boys didnt know they did anything wrong there is no posting saying you cant jump off the inflatables into the water. Man the yelled at them a second time to get out of the water. 3rd night we were there was a Saturday and we were going to invite in a few friends - 2 couple.. to sit at the campfire with us for a couple hours - Cost for visitors is $5 per adult and $3 per kid .. and they must leave by 10pm... they were at our campsite at 10pm to kick them off.. rediculous rules... Id not recommend this campground to anyone with kids.
