“Quick lunch driving through!”
Reviewed 24 June 2014

Stopped here for a quick lunch driving through from Illinois to Michigan. Food was okay. Service was okay. Nice and fairly clean. Home cooked food. We ordered Biscuits and Gravy which had a very strong sausage taste and too much salt; French Toast and bacon, can't really go wrong there; Ham and cheese omelet, and kids chicken strip meal. All in all, it was better than fast food and I would stop again.

“Worth the stop!”
Reviewed 19 June 2014

I have drove by Mary's place for a few years, so when I finally had time to stop I jumped at the chance. It was just before lunch time, so the crowd was not too bad. The interior is nothing to write home about. It was older tables and a few counter seats, but everything was clean and well maintained. I wasn't there for ambiance. I wanted food. They have quite a few different items on the menu. Anything from basic sandwiches to 1/2 pound hamburgers to full dinners. Something else that they have going for them is PIE. The day I was there they had 8 different kinds, but they have a list of about 50 that they cycle in and out of the menu. I wish I could taste them all.

I had a fish tale sandwich (aka a Whale) and fried mushrooms. They were both cooked perfect and not greasy. It was very good, but still had to try the pie. They had Cherry, PB, a few cream pies, but I went for the Carmel Dutch Apple. It was perfect. Firm and crunchy and not overly sweet. Heaven on a fork. All of that plus a drink was around $13, but you could get out of there for a lot less and still walk away full.

If you are in the neighborhood or on your way to the U.P. from Green Bay then you gotta give Mary's a stop even if it is just for a piece of Pie.

Happy Travels!
