Reviewed 12 April 2011

I first stayed at the Bridgeport Inn over 2 years ago. I travel to Prairie du Chien for business each week, and stumbled across the Bridgeport Inn by accident--the hotel I was planning to stay at was full. Since then I have become a regular customer, staying there one night every week. I couldn't be more satisfied. The owner is a pleasure to work with and is a "hands-on" host who has a vested interest in being sure that everyone has an enjoyable stay. The Bridgeport Inn has a very nice indoor swimming pool and hot tub. It also includes a continental breakfast. The location is excellent as well. If you are driving by the hotel, you will notice that it is set back from the road a bit and has a large parking lot. I think that this fact combined with it being privately owned probably results in some people driving on by and not stopping to check it out. But don't let that stop you. If you're still unsure, then I'd definitely recommend stopping by and looking at it yourself.

Should have consulted with TripAdvisor prior to staying in Prairie du Chien. Our choice of this hotel was a spur-of-the-moment decision as we were rolling through town at day's end. We were 'up-sold' on the deluxe room with the whirlpool option and king bed. Paid a gouge price to sleep in a room that had a toilet with indigestion - burping and belching in its tank all night long. When the toilet in the room above was flushed it sounded like a 747 taking off. I stayed at a Hampton Inn when travelling the week before that was 30% less expensive and twice as nice. Noting the deficiencies of the room at check-out didn't draw a bit of acknowledgement from the slothful manager. To their credit, the property was clean. I'd keep driving to a property that offered realistic value to their customers.
