The lobby smelled a bit like armpits when I arrived. The showerhead had mildew growing on it (never seen that before) and the lock on the back door did not latch. Other than the mold in the shower, the room was ok.

The hotel was an absolute joke. Being a clean hotel is NOT a priority here, and neither is customer satisfaction. I wouldn't ever stay at this place again.

This hotel is in serious need of an update. Everything was old and worn. Worse, the entire hotel had a terrible smell. It was even worse in my room than in the hallway. The fitness facility was awful -- only one of the three machines in the room was functional. One didn't work and the last one seemed downright unsafe.

Stayed here on way to Milwaukee. Hotel is average, nothing special. Sheets and blankets were so itchy we could not sleep very well. The city of Racine did not really have much to offer. We went down to the lake, that was beautiful. The beach was not very inviting. I would probably bypass Racine and go straight to Milwaukee next time.

We were very satisfied with our stay at this Comfort Inn. Our room was spacious and clean. It had a refrigerator and microwave, which came in handy and did not incur an additional charge. Staff was friendly and informative. Quick check in & out. Great breakfast that included waffles, juice, bagels, hard boiled eggs, English muffins, etc. There is a hot tub and exercise room which we didn't use. Did think about using the hot tub one evening, but that night the water looked like a bubble bath, we felt the chemicals might be "off". Only negatives would be that the carpet in our room was showing age and upon check-out, we were charged $1.00 per night for the safe that was a permanent installation in out room. We didn't use the safe, but more importantly, the fee was never mentioned until check-out - it should have been mentioned when the reservation was made.

We stayed at this property at the end of February 2009. I asked for and received early check-in. The motel is undergoing renovation so there are some unfinished spots but it was no problem on the weekend. The staff was friendly, welcoming and acted professionally. Our room had all the expected amenities; microwave, fridge, in-room coffee maker shampoo etc.. The king sized bed was comfortable, the towels were better than home, there was plenty of hot water and a good shower head. The room was spacious with a desk, chair, couch and coffee table. All I ask in a small motel is a good bed, a good shower and a staff who behave professionally. We had no complaints at the Racine Comfort Inn. MY EDITORIAL COMMENT: I wish that guests who go to the continental breakfast at ANY motel would dress fully before leaving the room.
