This was my first stay at a Microtel, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The staff was very welcoming when I arrived and the lobby area is very nice. There's a computer and printer available for guests to use, as well as a sitting area with television.

I had a room with a queen bed... it was quite small, but had great bedding (duvet & 3 pillows). The hotel is near the main drag, but far enough away that it's quiet. There are 3 floors & an elevator. No pool, but they do have a small excersise room (2 treadmills and a stepper).

One little quirky thing was the counter/window seat. At first I thought it was just a counter top, but there was a little pillow on the ledge. It would have been a little more inviting with cushions:)

This hotel in Rice Lake pleasantly surprised me. The hotel staff were very nice and accommodating. The room was on the small side, but the bed was quite plush and inviting. In fact, my boyfriend slept straight through the night in this hotel room, which is rare. While there was no fancy flat screen television, the smaller one they had mounted was just fine for me and my tired boyfriend. We did not hear anyone else in the hotel and the rooms were dark at night. The bathroom was clean. The continental breakfast was nothing special, but that is always to be expected. I would definitely go back to this hotel.

We rented two rooms and one suite for a family stay. The rooms were large, very clean, and well-furnished. The suite had a refrigerator, microwave, bar sink, counter space, table, and couch in addition to the queen size bed. The room also had one of the quietest heaters we've ever experienced.

I emailed the hotel a few days before our stay and they accommodated my request for adjoining rooms. The suites are separated from the regular rooms, but they gave us a suite near the other two rooms.

The front desk staff was very nice. The hotel is just off the interstate, and if you go a few blocks to the east, there are many restaurants and the Cedar Mall. Be sure to have a piece of pie at the Norske Nook.

There were no hair dryers in the rooms, so be sure to bring your own. Also, no pool or hot tub, but this was a great value for the money.

My wife and I were traveling to Canada and decided to stay at Rice Lake. We had never been to the area and saw that there was a Microtel right off the Hwy 53. It was a great choice as for the front desk staff was so overly nice! The room very clean as well! I would highly recommend staying at the Microtel for anyone staying in Rice Lake!
