First impressions are of a very small, well-decorated, clean, and busy restaurant! Wolf pictures and art items contribute to the Northwoods feeling. The interior is bright and cheerful. The exterior has hanging basket of flowers and, in the summer months, lots of people sitting in the sun, waiting for their name to be called for a table. Part of the experience is waiting outside and meeting/chatting with the other folks who are also on vacation, and who know, or have heard, that the wait is entirely worth it! The breakfast menu is much more exciting than the usual "diner" can offer. Our favorites are the World's Best Pancakes, because they are indeed the world's best pancakes! (You haven't had anything like these pancakes!) There are also some interesting choices like perch and eggs, homemade meatload and eggs, and phenomenal omelets. For lunch, the Reuben can't be beat. The owner/chef makes his own corned beef, which is so very lean and good! I can't even describe the homemade pies that Kathy/owner makes every day. Each serving is huge and delicious! The service is friendly and fast. The wait, as I mentioned before, can be long in the summer. If you don't feel like waiting, move on along!, but you'd be missing a fun experience and a terrific meal.
