The Inn is in a pretty location with a great view of woods and lake. We found the room and the common areas to be high class. The bed and the room were comfortable with no complaints. We arrive late but the staff were helpful with directions and advice. Had a nice walk to the lake. Breakfast was good. We only stayed one weekday night but would stay there again if we were in the area.

The Lucerne Inn has breathtaking views of Phillips Lake but the furniture inside is from the 1980's. The room was spacious and clean with a wet bar. We were the only guests in the Lake Overlook building, so it was quiet but we could see how it could be very noisy during wedding season. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable; the room furnishings were worn and aged. Our dinner in the restaurant was average but should have been better given the reputation of the restaurant (over-salted, salads over dressed). The continental breakfast in the morning was poorly done and not on par with the rest of the restaurant. Not a great selection and poorly presented. Overall, the views were great but I would probably stay in Bar Harbor or Bangor unless going to the Lucerne Inn for a wedding, golf outing, or looking for a deal.

Some things about this inn were phenomenal - the view from our room was unexpectedly beautiful, and the timed gas fireplace was such a nice touch. We were really enjoying our stay until our last night - we returned to our room at about 7:30 PM, after a long day biking and hiking at Acadia National Park, looking forward to relaxing in our room. No such luck. We discovered, to our dismay, that a wedding was taking place literally outside of our room, and we could hear nothing but the thump-thump-thump of the loud music played by the DJ they had hired and the loud talking and laughter of the guests. I called the front desk to complain, but the clerk told me, rather unapologetically, that the music would stop by 10 PM. (Gee, thanks!) It did stop when promised, but our evening was completely ruined by that point. Not sure whose brilliant idea it was to set up a space for wedding receptions right outside guest rooms and allow DJs with speakers.
When I raised the problem again at checkout the next day, I discovered that the night clerk had actually logged my complaint, but also noted that she had offered to switch our room - which was a complete lie. No offer was made, although it wouldn't have done any good anyway - the building is so small that the loud music was unavoidable.
The restaurant was overpriced and disappointing - our food took forever to arrive and was stone cold when it came. Taste wasn't bad, but not worth the price.
Overall, an OK place to stay as long as there's not a wedding going on! Eat somewhere else too!

Spacious rooms, great views, comfortable mattress! Excellent restaraunt. Incredible winter price of $49 for best room available. I had a very enjoyable stay here.

Visited this Inn on our second honeymoon and the food (it comes with a mountain lake view!) was absolutely wonderful. We stayed in a room with a wonderful view and a gas fireplace. The problem was the furniture ruined the overall experience. The mattress was old and needed replacing and the furniture may have been nice at one time, but was showing lots of wear. For the money I would have dinner there and stay somewhere else!
