We stayed at this hotel during an event - the Midsummer Festival of the Arts at the nearby Kohler Art Center. The location was great, but that was about the only thing great about this hotel. Because we were there during the Festival, the rates were jacked up to $140 a night, so we missed out on whatever "value" the hotel had.
The hotel is dated and starting to fall apart - the paint is literally peeling off the outside lobby entrance. That's not that big a deal, but things are starting to fall apart inside, too. The bed coverlet was stained, our room came with a dirty washcloth from the previous tenant, half the breakfast donuts were stale, there was a nasty vomit/sewer smell at the bottom of the stairs... overall it looks like the staff has stopped caring.
To be fair, this wasn't a terrible place - we slept fine, and didn't check out to find another hotel (although we considered it). But it's falling apart, and I don;t see it getting any better unless and until it has a major overhaul. Until then, try someplace else.
