If you want to have good food and friendly service without the ambiance, this is the place to go. Breakfast, lunch or dinner, the food is always hot. The atmosphere goes back to the early days of hamburger restaurants, with a few tables and a counter. The staff is always friendly and courteous. If you're in Sheboygan, and want a great hamburger, this is one of the best. The perch plate has also been voted Best of Sheboygan several years in a row.

You won't find many students here because the place isn't hip enough. All it offers is great service, 1960's decor, limited seating, great burgers, fries, steak sandwiches, brats, grilled chicken, and as good a Friday fish fry as you'll find in a city known for them. And the restrooms are clean. Why does that matter? The people who clean the restrooms in a small restaurant usually ate the same ones who clean the kitchen, that's why. If you go on Friday, don't miss the homemade potato salad.

In one word. Fantastic! Personally, I was Sheboygan Brat hunting, but the others at my table tried the fish and burgers. We were ALL pleased and impressed. The waitresses were very attentive, and the food was awesome. I love the hands on approach of the owner who cleared our table and brought dessert. Do not skip the torte! We tried all three and all were great. The small diner atmosphere was comfortable and 'out of towner' friendly. Parking is a little bit of a challenge, but I would walk quite a way to eat here again.

Charcoal Inn north is a local diner restaurant. They have well above average friendly wait staff and local flavor. My personal favorite is the hamburger on a Sheboygan hard roll.

Every time I have been to Charcoal Inn over lunch the place has been very busy with local patrons. Parking can be difficult. It may be easiest to part on the street.

In addition to lunches they are also open for breakfast.

They also have a south Sheboygan location.
